HW-304B Pro

Soooo I’ve been wanting a better filter for my baby RES turtle “Mott” for his 20G long aquarium. Used the HOB filters but they always ended up leaking water all over my floor and I was DONE. So I started looking into canister filters with UV. Found this and ordered it. Less than $100? WHY NOT? When the package arrived a few days later I was BLOWN AWAY at how large the box was. Then I took it out of the box and was BLOWN AWAY at the fact that the filter is just as big as the box. I was expecting something like 1/4 the size so I was shocked. It’s a 20G long so it’s not that deep, it’s “long”. Had to cut the intake pipe so it would fit in the tank. But I’m SOOOO GLAD I bought this filter. 1 month later it keeps my turtles tank SOOOO CLEAN! I LOVE it!! If you’re thinking about it, just get it! I added a $10 wave maker to it to push the dirt to the intake and it’s PERFECT! Not only is Mott happy, but I am too! Such an amazing filter! BIG, but fairly quiet and have 0 complaints as of yet! Will update this if anything changes, but I doubt it will. * the water was cloudy for the first few days but I turned OFF the UV and it cleared up. I think it needed to build up beneficial bacteria to help clear up. Any questions? ASK ME !

I am no expert! Just other guy like fish! I am running this SunSun right next to my Eheim 2075 pro 3 which I got it from a local aquarium about 7 months. Here is what I think of both side by side. By the way. This 304B comes with 4 media baskets not 3 shows on the picture. Price: SunSun is only 1/3 of the cost Material: SunSun use some type of soft plastic all around, all of parts can be blended. Eleim are use hard plastic, which build with better durable materials. Water flow: SunSun has better water flow than Eheim. SunSun rated 575 gph and Eleim rated 330 gph. Noise: The noise level from SunSun is acceptable, but still notable if you wants to hear it. But Eheim has less noise compare to sun sun. Media baskets and medias: SunSun does not comes with any media in the box. However the seller does included some basic media and pads with no extra cost. SunSun baskets are much bigger than Ehiem which mean can hold more media. Place of origin: SunSun / China, Ehiem / German. Easy to use: - SunSun set up is simple and easy. But there is very limit print information walk through how to setup. With experience people that is no problem. But for newbie, youtube is your friend! - Built in On / Off switch for the 9W UV light, also had a small indication is on or off. - The hose is 1 inch size. Ehiem use 3/4. - SunSun media baskets also make from soft plastic. Which Eleim use slimier plastic! However. Eheim has better design form stacking. I do need extra time to be sure I put them in the right way and level. Again these baskets are bigger than the Ehiem 2075 - SunSun basket has no indication when is full. Ehiem and many other use transparency basket so the water level can be very easy to view. So far, I like the SunSun 304B with the performance and price, just can't beat it! Give it 6 months, will see anything change. At the end, don't expect paid for the Hyundai price for a Mercedes. But Mercedes not always better than Hyundai. Update after 7 months The canister is still stay quiet, smooth and have very strong water flow. I have perform complete cleaning 3x since new. No leaking or any problems. Completely bang for the buck from this guy. I am sure I will recommended to my friends! Change from 4 stars to 5 stars 20 months, working perfect as day one! getting other one for my planted tank soon To be honest, this HW308B is out performance Ehiem Pro 3. I have the Sun Sun for over 26 months. Every time i have to clean the Ehiem and wants to replace with the another sun sun. After 2.5 years of use. on last filter cleaning, I found a small piece of black plastic falls out. and I can't find anywhere to put it back. so I design to skip that after cleaning. however, it start to leak. I try different ways to fix it, but leak still happen, it looks like the water is over flow to the limit and start coming out, I think is something to do with that small piece of black plastic which I don't know how to put it back. SO I call it DONE. Just place an order for same one to replace it. for the price it worth to use it again!

Update 3: Changed my review to state I made a mistake. Used vasaline and played with o-ring and got it to ginally seal. After 2yrs running, tank looks great. Have another one upstairs on my showtank and have NEVER OPENED IT UP. It's been running for 1yr just like it was new and tank looks amazing. Don't overfill with filter padding, a little is okay. Think of biological (ceramic rings, those sink scrubbers). Been solid for me, love that it's just a benifical bateria keeping stud! 5 stars!! Great unit for the first 60 days in operation; even think it outperforms my 2 "Reliable" Emperor 400b on same size tank. BUT after the FIRST cleaning and reassembling, I come home to 5 gallons on the floor (thankfully concrete) and noticed a small constant flowing leak underneath gray latch. Opened up and made sure everything was seated correctly and fired up again; still the leaking persisted, this game went on to 2am. Went to Y*utube videos and forums to realize others have had these issues- most related to bad gasket- 'O' ring... not my case! Tried silicone grease, then teflon tape to bump out ring... no effect. After more various attempts on troubleshooting, nothing changed. Ended up putting tub underneath (as EVERYONE should do to hedge bets- leaking won't start immediately: mine takes 10-15 minutes after sealing unit, then steadly flows out- others who the o-ring was not the culprit I read haven't started until 2 hrs later). Most seem to occur after servicing. Trying to minimize water overspill and possible damages until I hear back from seller to hopefully rectify because the unit was doing its intended job and seems others are having good experiences- I'm apparently one of those that got a lemon. Meanwhile hundreds of dollars of fish and in limbo with one hob running the tank. Will UPDATE! *Got water expulsion greatly reduced (see video) by putting silicone around the circumference of light housing... REALLY, on a 2 month old unit!! Disappointing... LFK? Do you stand behind your products??

J’avais un gros doute au vu des commentaires mais franchement elle fait parfaitement le travail !! Dans un 400l elle filtre tes bien et l’eau est tjs propre. Elle est dans mon salon et je l’entend pas du tout. J’entends plus le bruit de l’eau qui coule quand mon niveau est trop bas lol

Perfectly working.

Set up as per instructions. Turned on and smoke filled my lounge room. Requested a refund and great service from Amazon but I don't have the time to return and wait for a new unit. Fitted an external pump and unit leaked all through my house. Amazon has always been awesome but this product has hurt my belief in this product.

Broke after 7 days of use just seconds after return time closed as if it was waiting. It made an electric charge and the whole house electricity went of. It's definitely defective and let water into the wires.
