The book is in great shape and it came to me in a timely manner. I look forward to using this book and its information for work. It was a great recommendation from a friend.

This is a classic developmental book. I have been in leadership for 20+ years and use this quarterly for myself, and to coach my team, and them to coach theirs. The book is a bit pricey, but worth the investment. It is broken out into basic managerial competencies, and career stallers/ stoppers. They also cluster many skills together to help create a "program" to help direct you. Be sure to build the plan using the recommended template, and create regular follow ups. Everything you need is in this book!

This book is exactly what I was looking for. I have only been working for 5 years and there is still so much I need to learn. I'm aware I have several gaps but I had no idea how to work on them, and this book has really helped me understand the path I need to take. It's definitely not a book you read cover to cover, but you will absolutely use it constantly. I love it, it was worth every penny.

This book is a great resource on helping identify behaviors in a wide variety of competencies. With contributions by many of the great leadership experts of our time, this book helps identify what the behaviors look like when successfully demonstrated as well as what behaviors look like when under or overskilled in something. I use this book for my own team and personal development as well as helping other leaders develop members of their teams. It is a must have on any book shelf.

The company that I work for requires their leaders to use this book for our assessments and and reviews of our own as well as other associates. It really has wonderful information, well written, and easy to navigate. I purchased this one to use for writing scholarships and future resumes as well as just having it to reference for my own self development.

I recently accepted a nursing supervisor position. For the past 6 months I have been bullied by the very people who encouraged me to take the position-my co-workers and boss. Numerous times I've met with the boss regarding employee complaints. In several of the meetings, my boss commented that she didn't know how to handle the situation and soon I was working with human resources (HR). While working with HR one afternoon, I saw this book, FYI, on the shelf. I went home, googled the book/author, ordered it, and read it. I have learned how to communicate better with my boss, coworkers, and even friends and family. No longer am I being bullied. Every employee in a humanity field-nursing, social work, teaching, police/security, etc…should buy this book, use the strategies, and see your life improve!

QualityBooksFast offered a fair price on a classic you often see being sold at ridiculous prices. I became familiar with this text when I wrote professional performance reviews, and now I hope to use it to coach my children as they prepare their essays for college. The book will give them many suggestions on how to express things they've had limited experience in discussing. I bought this copy after I loaned out my original and that never came back. I know why, too. It's great.
