Highly Recommended
This book is packed with useful suggestions and strategies for incorporating music into your life to help relieve stress and pain. Not only that, but the book itself is beautifully written; each chapter begins with a reflective poem by one of the authors, and examples are drawn from both personal experience and scientific studies. Listening, playing an instrument, improvising, singing, creating a personal play list, and composing are all discussed to demonstrate how music can help us cope with life's difficulties. The CD that accompanies the book is delightful, and allows the reader to immediately see how different musical compositions may be helpful in different situations, including a closing lullaby to help with sleeping. I'm sure you will find both the book and the CD useful and a joy to read and listen to.
