I first installed this a few months ago with high expectations. This did not fall to short of these expectations but I do have a few point.1. The locking mechanism for the pins worked flawless for roughly the first month. While it doese have a cover for the key slot it failed to keep out mud and dirt so there was alot of wiggling to get the lock barrel to turn, not a big deal but a consideration.2. This is my fault but I lost the keys to the pin locking mechanism even though it comes with 4 keys that all work across the board. So I proceeded to cut the pins off with the intention of replacing it with a standard hitch pin. I found that this was extremely quick and easy to cut through these with a grinder. Not that I expected this to be difficult but it did leave me woundring why have the locks in the first place. I get minor deterants can stop theft but it was also a issue for me when I couldn't flip the ball 20 miles away from a grinder. Once again it was ultimately my fault but just also another consideration.3. The balls are coated thinly and rust quickly if left in the weather. Doesn't bother me per say but it doese bother my friend that has the same product.Ultimately the product works great and is exactly what I was hoping for. I only wanted to write this to hopefully help the next guy come up with solutions to the problems befor they're problems.

I really like how light it is ,works perfectly on my truck,very easy to adjust to any height you need and has 2 - locking pins .Very nice piece!

I've really enjoyed this hitch system and it's solid quality. I've had no issue with it whatsoever for 18 months. Today, when I went to unlock the hitch pin locks though, I found that they're frozen solid. I've had to cut them off and purchase new ones because no amount of wd40 or nut buster was able to get them loosened up. Once you get this replace those and you'll be happy.

This unit did everything I wanted and seems very well built.

I don't have any complaints. I've towed over 14,000 pounds several times with no problems. It fits in the receiver nicely with no play. Also it's a nice looking hitch.

When I was reading the reviews before purchase I seen people talking about how it was loose and sloppy. I figured they were talking about the fit into the hitch receiver, which is loose and sloppy on all hitches and they make clamps for solving that. Its actually got some play in that part (normal) but there’s also play where the drop connects and the hole the ball sits in so you end up with three spots of play that adds up to bouncing and jerking on your trailer worse than just a straight fixed hitch.It’s still a very nice and very versatile setup at a great price point. I do not regret not paying more for something else that does the same and that would probably not be much better.I do wish they made some other options for it that could be used in the bottom spot instead of just storing the extra ball in it. Like a D-ring or hook and what I’d really like is some type of step that could fit into the bottom hole instead of the extra ball. After all, you’re using this drop hitch in the first place because your bed is higher than standard, so the addition of a step would just make great sense.Also impressed with reviews indicating problems (with early versions of this) like the set screw to hold the ball in and how the manufacturer responded by fixing the issues and now have a pin that goes all the way through the ball instead of the set screw.**** Hopefully they’ll read my review and tighten up their machining tolerances to reduce some of the slop (I wouldn’t mind having to hammer on it to get it apart or together due to tight tolerances if it means no slop), and begin offering a step accessary that fits in place of the stored ball on the bottom. If they add a step I can buy I’ll raise my review from 4-5 stars.

Purchase this to go along with a new taller SUV than my previous midsized SUV. This thing is extremely attractive, heavy, well-made with a lot of precision, and well designed.It went on my truck without needing to look at the instructions until I got to the locking pins where I needed to take a peek in order to figure out how the locking pins go in without interfering with the ball mechanism. Once I saw that I understood how well designed it was and appreciated it even more.I like the fact that I can now adjust this for any type of trailer I have almost any vehicle that I need to put this song in the future. It comes with two different ball sizes in two sets of keys.Expensive, but it was one of the cleanest looking and after getting it, i’m very pleased to never have to think about this again how’s it going to last longer than the vehicles that it’s on.
