Son Of Your Father: Live 1969

A Rough But Valuable Document
As stated by "otherworldmusic" this is of value as it is a live document that we might not otherwise have. But it really reminds me of your college buddy that snuck a cassette recorder into a Zeppelin concert and friends who were starved for a live recording lined up to make copies...And like today, you go to a concert and there are 100 amateur videographers holding their phones in front of your face through the whole show so they can post it to YouTube.... they're certainly not doing the band a favor in this day and age posting a cellphone audio recording...Still, I enjoyed the show perhaps because of that nostalgic memory... I don't regret my purchase but I might add that it's more like a $8 CD than a $14 one.

Alright For a Radio Show
This CD is a decent radio soundboard in stereo. You can clearly hear Mike Harrison's vocals and Luther Grosvenor's fiery guitar work. There is good separation between channels and I don't understand other customers slagging this recording off. Buy this if you like Spooky Two or the Last Puff.

It's a shame because I love this group
This is a poorly done CD. It's a shame because I love this group. The audio quality is poor. The packaging is terrible. It has a single card cover insert with no information other than the incorrect date and personnel. The inside art is exactly the same as the back cover. This is definitely not 1969 nor the given lineup. It is 1970 with: Mike Harrison, Luther Grosvenor, Mike Kellie, John Hawken and Steve Thompson. It's not long after the release of "The Last Puff". This is a previously unavailable transitional lineup of the group. It could have been treated with love. I expect a few pages of information and background. The sound might have been possible to improve. Why would someone put this out in such a pathetic form? The saddest thing is: the performance is actually good.

Valuable Archive Record of a Great Band
Great band, with the marvelous guitar of Luther Grosvenor in his prime!
