I have Baofeng UV-5R and it works great but it does have one big shortcoming, there was no way to charge the internal battery if I was in a car. This adapter is the answer, fits perfectly and allows me to use the radio for an extended time without having to worry about the battery running low. It is cheap and does a great job, highly recommended.

These are good for what they are for, but the cord tends to pull out of the case.

Completely eliminate the needs for an external battery when run off your 12v power supply.

It is not a high end quality product but for this price you should not expect it. As an emergency backup for a dead battery it is great!

The media could not be loaded. After transmitting using it for 2-3 minutes, the back of the device gets extremely hot. It gets so hot that the three metal connectors can burn your skin. When it is hot, and when attempting to transmit, the radio loses power and the screen fades. Another issue is that the device introduces too much interference to the radio, causing it to get stuck on certain channels during scanning, even when there is no one transmitting on that frequency. I have tested both units with five different Baofeng radios, and the same issues occurred.

Works good! But it won’t last long. After about 30 mins of qso it became hot enough to not only be uncomfortable but melt the hot glue inside and the chip started sliding around. Also the battery case still had e battery label on it and didn’t say battery eliminator or anything. Low quality but I’m not sure a more expensive one would be any better as they all look identical.
