Dräger X-plore 3500 Half-Face Respirator Mask, NIOSH Approved

The first legit MSA approved small sized half cartridge respirator I’ve ever came across! The Draeger brand is a brand that I’ve been using over the last 10 years. I’ve still been using my first mask, the xplore 3500 in a medium size. When I was fitted for it by Mining Site, the standard 3M mask was too big for my petite face. No smalls were available across all respirator manufacturers. The safety officer said Draeger had a medium respirator that typically ran smaller. He was right. The medium barely fit, despite that, this mask is super comfortable and light weight. I’ve had it for 10 years. The silicone is softer on it than this small one, but it could be worn out like the head strap finally. When I saw Draeger made this mask in a small. A total no brainer, I had to order it! The silicone isn’t quite as soft as my 10y.o. Draeger Xplore 3500 medium musk. I’m gonna hope it “breaks in”. This small mask seals extremely well to my face. Perfect for small framed women. I would be willing to bet even a child or teenager could easily wear this. Definitely a win here for this Rosie the Riveter gal! Thank you Draeger for making a Small Size!!! Guess I need a full face cartridge one next!!

I purchased this mask for a home renovation project as I needed protection for everything from dust particles to chemical fumes. This mask, along with the X-plore Combination Cartridges, has performed admirably in every scenario. It seals tightly against my face with no leaks and is comfortable even when wearing it for several hours.

This respirator is perfect for working with COVID patients. I use it daily while working in our hospital’s infectious disease unit. It is comfortable and lightweight yet it fits snug enough for me to feel safe.

Wish I knew you needed to buy $100 in filters with the mask. I thought at least one would be included.

I have severe allergies and can’t work in my yard. All the other allergy filter face masks were too had to breath through. Tried the drager and it works great. Light weight, easy to put on, and it totally works.

Ich brauche seit etwa 5 Jahren eine Brille für den Nahbereich. Sämtliche Masken habe ich bisher ausprobiert, aber bei allen war immer wieder das Problem, das die Brille von der Atemluft direkt beschlägt. Bei dieser Maske ist das echt anders. Einmal ordentlich eingestellt kann man diese über eine Stunde anziehen, ohne das die Brille beschlägt. Sie ist absolut dicht. Geht sogar noch mit zusätzlichem Gehörschutz. Ein- / Ausziehen ist auch sehr easy. Ersatzfilter kosten um die 10 Euro pro Paar. Kann die Atemschutzmaske echt nur empfehlen.

The mask is very convenient and provides very good protection. Alas, one has to carefully select the filters needed.

Très pratique et léger

I'll preface this with a reminder that proper fit testing should be done... it's safety gear and should be used properly. I've used some other Draeger products in the past and was suitably impressed by their quality. In looking for some personal RPE for the smokey days of wildfire season, I decided to give this half-mast a whirl. I have a larger face and the large fit well (passed the fit test with flying colors, consistently fit checks well). The ridges molded in near the nose do seem to lighten the pressure a bit but it still has enough room for an ample schnozz like mine. Coupled with p100 (P3 for our European friends) filters, it did well when the smoke was at its worst this year. Would buy again.
