Ever since I had to “upgrade” to the newer app version the app itself is awful. You can fast forward thru a video anymore because it seldom works. This is a brand new camera and I honestly have had problems with it since day one. I had to reboot it every morning so it would capture images. When there is an animal in front of the camera it doesn’t record them and now it’s black and white during the daylight. Unable to return it at this point but I will probably return the other pro I just bought and find a new camera system. The essential generation 2 cameras are terrible. I have had the original cameras outside for years and have not had a problem with them. But this is the 2nd or 3rd 2nd gen camera I have had and they are worthless.Multiple emails and phone calls about this camera and frankly I don’t have time to worry about it anymore. Very disappointing. And now I’m stuck with two solar charges that hardly work. It could be a full day of sunshine and the camera still dies unless it is plugged in.Not very happy since I have 2 locations with Arlo and four cameras outside and two cameras at the other. You call auto med service and they are just reading off a script. Unhelpful and no resolution.

Picked up this Essential XL to add to my existing Arlo security camera setup and it's awesome.Setup is super simple. Mounting it and getting it pointed right where I wanted visibility was quick and easy. Connecting the camera to my Arlo hub and adding it to my existing setup took only a minute.Video quality is great, as is connectivity with the 5GHz wifi. The extended battery life means months without having to think about recharging. Even with an extended battery, the overall size is still small enough to go unnoticed in most spots.I'm really happy with this addition to my current security setup. The features, value, and quality are all what I've come to expect from Arlo products.
