Absolutely no instructions with this product bought from Amazon. Googled THE NAME OF THE ITEM but got no info as to the watering of the tray once seeds/cuttings start to have roots growing. Do I put water in the bottom of the tray, do I water manually……..will be sending back if the things that I decide to do do not produce plants with roots that I can plant in soil. ABSOLUTELY NO INSTRUCTIONS…..EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED!

These are great little grow sponges for starting seedlings. The size is perfect for starting the seeds indoors, then transferring to a larger cup or pot. They are not hard or feel 'stale'. They feel pliable and soft and I could easily manipulate the hole for the seeds with my fingers. I love the tray that is included which helps keep the sponges upright when you are seeding. Overall, a great product and good value! I'd definitely buy again!

This is a nice little kit for starting plants. The soil is actually little pods that feel like sponges more than soil. They need to be soaked before adding seeds. I love these little pods. There is no mess. They stay intact even after soaking. I used a pair of tweezers to make an opening and place the seeds down inside. I have small sprouts starting to come up. The plastic container is pretty lightweight. It is adequate, but not very sturdy. I put a sheet pan under it to make sure I didn’t dump the seeds down inside pods. It also has a plastic cover to make a little greenhouse type of environment. Overall, it looks like it is a great kit.

These grow sponges worked wonderfully for starting my marigold seeds! They stayed moist, promoted strong roots, and fit well in my tray. Great for beginners or anyone starting a garden!

I was excited to find these at a low price compared to other things that were similar on Amazon.However, when I received them, it was a different story. Yes, the tray looked good and all of the growth sponges were there. However, the growth sponges were not not wrapped in plastic. As someone who grew up on a plant nursery and still works at a plant nursery, I can tell you that’s a problem. When growing cubes like these are not wrapped, fungus gnats and other insects can go in and lay eggs. I had this happen once with fungus gnats and they ate several dozen cuttings that I was trying to root in growth sponges like this. Fungus gnats also eat seedlings.Not only that, this is but funguses/molds travel through air. So, where these are being stored in the warehouse, we don’t know if there is moisture there that could infect your plants when you put them in these sponges.Even though the cubes are dry when you receive them, the fungus gnats, and fungus/molds will grow when you re-wet the cubes and plant your seeds in them.There is a way that you can disinfect them. Put the cubes in a container of water that is 115° or hotter. Add to each gallon of water some fungicide (Any kind will do). Add as much as it says in the directions on the container. Also add 10% bleach. Soak pods in this mixture for 1 hour or more. Make sure that all of the pods are fully submerged entire time. Also put a Cover over the container so that the temperatures remain above 100° for the full hour. At the end of at least one hour squeeze out and rinse the plugs in water. This will end any issues with insects and molds.So, yes this issue can be dealt with. However, doing the above procedure takes time and time is precious. So, I must give two stars to this product. Hopefully, they will change things so that we don’t have to deal with this added step. I hope that this information helps you have more success with your plants. Nice concept however the pods have grown mold and milder while waiting for the seeds to germinate I will use a different method next time to late to get my money back & I used quite a bit of the pods I used 4 trays times 12 so it’s too late
