Nalgene HDPE Narrow Mouth BPA-Free Water Bottle, 32 oz

I originally bought one of these water bottles in 2017 for a hike in bear country. The water bottle stuck by me for all 90 miles of the hike and then some. I continued to use this bottle for years after until the strap connecting the cap and the bottle finally gave out.I ordered this bottle and have been using it daily ever since. the plastic is sturdy but slightly malleable. I like it better than the similar more solid plastic narrow mouth nalgenes. The strap connecting the cap and the bottle did break on my old model but that was after years of hanging it off of a carabiner on a backpack.I would recommend this water bottle to anyone who needs a new one.

I've been using Nalgene water bottles for at least 5 years, and am pretty impressed by how they hold up. My oldest bottle has been dropped, bumped, fallen down the stairs and run through the dishwasher more times than I can count, but you'd never be able to tell. I haven't had a Nalgene bottle "wear out" on me yet, which is why I keep buying more of them! Not just for myself -- they also make excellent inexpensive gifts.The most recent addition to my Nalgene collection is a narrow-mouth 32-ounce bottle that is white with blue trim. Although this bottle has the same quality level I've come to expect from Nalgene products, there are 2 small considerations about this particular bottle that I'd like to share:1) The narrow mouth. Compared with the "wide" mouth found on some other Nalgene bottles, this opening is pretty narrow. You will NOT be able to clean the inside of this bottle with your bare hands -- so make sure to invest in a bottle brush if you plan to put fruit (or anything other than water/ice) inside the bottle. Being able to clean the bottle thoroughly is also really important for avoiding residual smells and bacteria!Also, the diameter of the mouth is about the same size as the opening on a gallon-sized milk jug -- so it's relatively easy to get ice cubes inside.2) The color. The blue and white looked fine to me on the website, but in person this bottle looks a little medical for my taste. More than one person has suggested that this bottle looks like it should be used to collect a urine sample, and sadly I don't disagree. I don't really need my water bottle to be pretty, but if you're easily grossed out you might want to consider a different color. This white is also NOT the white color Nalgene offers that glows in the dark, so you might want to avoid this colorway if that's a feature you need.

I bought two of these to replace two Nalgenes that looked just like them.I purchased my original Nalgenes about twenty years ago. They went with me on back packing and camping trips to Arizona, California, Minnesota, West Virginia, Kentucky, Florida, and Ohio in all kinds of weather. Although I must have dropped both of them on rocks a hundred times, they never failed me. They didn't wear out either. I just forgetfully abandoned them in golf carts!What else do I like about them? The screw-on caps are permanently tethered so they can't get lost, and a finger on the tether keeps them out of your way while you are drinking. They are easy to clean (no gaskets, no straws, nor fancy valves to harbor bacteria, to leak or to break). They fit conveniently in your hand. They don't impart a taste to your water. They are light and volumetrically efficient (i.e., no double-wall and no handles). The part that goes in your mouth is covered by the cap when it is closed.For my purposes, I haven't seen another water bottle that I'd rather own -- regardless of price.

I was looking for a really lightweight bottle that was easy to use. We have used it for a couple of months, it is indeed much lighter than other bottles I have used, it's easy to clean and I like the narrow mouth. So for what I needed I would recommend it. While it is light, I do think it's relatively sturdy and well-made.

I use this for smoothies and find it's very tough to clean the thick smoothies out of it - I put it in the dishwasher but still find that a lot of residue is left behind. I ended up throwing one away because I just couldn't get it cleaned up... I would probably choose a wide mouth bottle next time.

These are absolutely my favorite Nalgene Bottles. I love the narrow mouth, because I don't spill all over myself, and I love the HDPE plastic. It's BPA Free, as it always has been before that was a thing. It's crushproof and effectively indestructible. You could cut it or break the cap somehow but I can't reasonably think of a set of circumstances that would happen. You can drive this bottle over with a car (empty with the cap off) and it will crush but won't break, you can still use it as a vessel. I bet you could hit this with a lawnmower empty and it wouldn't destroy it.If you like Nalgenes and you like the old school white and blue, buy this (I got it for six bucks) you can't beat that deal.

Standard sized 1L narrow mouth Nalgene bottle, except in HDPE (a softer translucent plastic). I like this material for rough use. It is softer and can deform and pop back, but still keeps it's shape well. They say that this material is less toxic than the traditional clear. It's relatively inexpensive. I'm going to get a couple more. I have a bunch of containers of various sizes from huge (like 5L) to small pill bottles. They have an initial scent of plastic (like most new plastic does) I find it goes mostly away if I run them through the dishwasher once with just a little detergent. Overall I kind of love it.

I use this water bottle while hiking. It's sturdy and doesn't leak when properly capped. It does not impart any taste or smell to the water that I can detect. It will dent when opened at altitude and then returning to a lower elevation without opening the bottle. But, it will return to it's original shape after the pressure is equalized and the bottle refilled with water. It may take and hour or so to return to it's original shape. I would buy this again.

This is the HDPE version of the narrow mouth Nalgene water bottles. It is a softer plastic then the new clear versions that Nalgene makes but these are also BPA free. Originally the HDPE versions were the first type of Nalgene bottles before they started creating the clear ones so these are sort of like their "vintage" line. They have the same strength but I find them to be a touch lighter and I actually prefer the softness that they give compared to the sturdier new ones.Like I mentioned above these are BPA free which is pretty much a necessity these days with any water bottle that you use. BPA can cause known cancers so its always best to choose a water bottle that is free from BPA!I really like this Nalgene bottle for the following reasons:1) Very well made and will last a lifetime with good care2) Has a narrow mouth opening for easy drinking3) Made of the HDPE material like the original Nalgene bottles and is BPA FREEOverall this is a great choice and price for a classic Nalgene bottle. You will have this bottle for life if you do not abuse it to hard. I usually end up loosing my Nalgene bottle or breaking the caps before the actual bottle breaks. I have never broken a Nalgene bottle and I have to say that I stress test these guys to some high standards.Always a great buy, you can't go wrong with a Nalgene Bottle!
