The individual beads are Much smaller than I expected, which makes no functional difference to me whatsoever, but to grab a handful of them feels much like a holding a handful of sand, except less gritty.If you don't own a funnel, go ahead and buy one now. You'll be happy you did.Because they're so small, it's easy to distribute the weight you want where you want it to be.I love that the blankets and mats I make with them are machine-washable; I'm a clutz. Also, children. (My first weighted blanket was made with rice. It lasted about a week into living with my roommate, whose 7-year-old spilled kool-aid on it. Oops.)I even started making hot/cold packs with them and microwaving/freezing them. (Not sure if this is advised actually, but I keep the cook time to a minimum and it hasn't been an issue yet.)Easy to work with, easy to clean up when I inevitably spill them, LOVE that they come double-bagged! My new go-to for weighted projects!

I have some quality plastic pellets and then had a customer request glass in their weighted blanket. My first thought was why would you use glass?! Now I don't know why you would use plastic. I just used up the plastic and won't be ordering it again. This product gives you the same weight as the plastic pellets at only a small fraction of the bulk. It's smoother, so the blanket doesn't feel like a bean bag, but more like an ultra-heavy fabric. I have worried about using plastic due to the potential for chemicals being harmful, but I don't have those same worries with the glass. There aren't any rough edges--think of seed beads the size of grains of sand. I'm checking out prices now to get the best price per pound--am absolutely reordering and will be upgrading all of my future orders to glass-filled.

I have been using thifor weighted blankets. My first two orders were great, my last two were full of glass sand dust and I had to spend time pouring it from one container to another in front of a fan to remove dust and make it usable.
