This is a wonderful Kaffee Fassett book, although it is actually written by one of his assistants. It is a collection of her needlepoint tapestries and pillows. Her work is lovely, and she provides instructions in case you want to try to recreate them, or buy a kit from her producer.

This is the EXACT same book as the book "Jill Gordon's Needlepoint - Glorious Tapestry Designs". And I mean EXACT. They do have different covers and different publishers but the insides are identical so if you already have the one you don't need this other. Having said that, the contents are beautiful and the writings from the author are wonderful to read. A book chock full of inspiration!

this is a wonderful book for semi experienced needleworkers because it focuses on the process of design. Sources of inspiration are explored and readers are encouraged to create their own work. The graphs that are inluded are reasonably clear and easy to follow. It will certainly convert you to random long stich, the Hollyhock screen is gorgeous!

For those of you who want to stitch up these wonderful designs, you should be aware that the yarn used is from a UK company called Paterna. They also sell tapestry wool in the US under the name Paternayan. All of the numbers that do not start with a D are accurate, however the numbers that start with a D are only available from the UK version of the company. You will need to either substitute for them or order the yarn directly from the UK.By the way, if you have any problems, Jill Gordon is wonderful about answering e-mails. She seems to be a very nice woman...

Kaffe Fassett's tapestry book is excellent and with beautiful photographs. I would recommend it to anyone interested in this designer.

I bought this book online and was unable to see the mention of needlepoint on the cover. So as a warning to others let me say that despite the title the book is NOT about tapestry but about needlepoint and of little or no use to weavers. Such a shame that an author (or, I suspect, a publisher) knowledgeable enough to publish a book on the subject doesn't know the most basic of terms.
