I'm a bit ignorant about switches. can the four ports labeled as "4 x 1g sfp ports" be used as regular port like the other 48 ports?
How deep is the unit with plug attached?

Great product easy setup

I have installed many of these switches for clients that can't afford cisco and they work great every time with no failures. They are the best bang for the buck. However the current pricing is now so high it doesn't make any sense to but this product because it now cost almost 1000.00 US "used". The pricing isn't even consistent between vendors. One vendor is selling the 760w version at the same price as this one is a little over one thousand dollars. Not good for business.

The best 48-port office switch anywhere near this price point

These are fantastic switches, providing years of reliable use (we've never had one fail in 6 years of deployments) and a lifetime warranty. The price is 1/4th of a comparable HP switch. The web interface is a little clunky, yes, but have you seen the interfaces of HP and Cisco switches? They are definitely *not* any better. All of the features you need for troubleshooting are there, including mac-address table lookup, arp table lookup (if routing is enabled), cable testing, manual port shutdown, VLAN assignment, etc.The newer firmwares have fixed most of the issues with the GUI, including fixing some glitchy-ness with the web GUI admin console, and adding important features like DHCP Relay/IP Helper. These switches support any of the features an office might need, including full 802.1q VLAN tagging, QoS marking, static routing, RSTP, loop detection, link-aggregation groups (port-channel/bonding), and DHCP Relay.PROS:-Extremely reliable switch with full 48-port PoE & Fiber SFP-Equivalent feature-set of a $3000 HP/Cisco switch-Easy-to-manage web interface, no CLI neededCONS:-The management IP address can only broadcast/be accessible on a single VLAN. Thus, you probably shouldn't change the default MGMT VLAN.-DHCP Relay can only have a single server specified. Thus, split-DHCP and DHCP Relay aren't supported. (Also, the v1 version of this GS752TP switch does not have the DHCP Relay feature, only the v2 version does). If you need to have split-DHCP & DHCP Relay, you'll need to the do the relay on your router instead.-The new v2 version only comes with the smaller rack-mount screws, instead of the standard larger-diameter screws for a standard 19" aluminum/steel 2-post rack. Rack-mount screws tend to be plentiful in most network closets, so this isn't usually a problem.

Straightforward Installation & Management

We just transitioned to a VoIP phone system on our campus. We needed a POE version of our current 48 port switch to eliminate the need for individual power adapters for desktop phone handsets. I had previously segmented the two drops in our offices so that one drop went through one switch and the other drop went through another. With that setup and this switch we can now manage and reboot the phone system from anywhere. We also saved money as the incremental cost of the POE version was much less than the numerous power adapters we would have needed.

Works great

Purchased this one because I had the same switch already on the network and I thought it was going bad. Works great.

Easy transition from Netgear's Plus SMB switches

I manage the entire IT infrastructure for a small business running AD, Exchange, IOT gadgets, VoIP, VPNs, printers; Plus a small remote corporate office. I've been running 802.1q VLANS on a pair of Netgear's "Plus" line of managed switches for several years. The learning curve moving to VLANs on the Pro switches required some research and lots of tinkering. Ultimately, the Pro switches allow for much more granular control and security at the expense of ease of use. In my opinion, the Pro switches are a big improvement and well worth the investment of time and money.

A highly-flexible workhorse at a bargain price

I've got a number of netgear's managed switches, this was just the latest purchase. The hardware is solid, if previous switches are any indication, this switch will probably outlive the building it's in.The switch has a lot of configurability and many options that I would expect to find in an enterprise-grade switch costing quite a bit more. The configuration process can be a little confusing (there are three places to change a port's VLAN, and you need to review all of them) and the QoS options are numerous and - just take the word of this greybeard and stick with the defaults unless you really have your mind set to CoS to DSCP mappings in a hybrid L2/L3 switch. This is a very efficient switch, and despite the number of ports and PoE capacity, it generates much less heat than I expected.

Not Smart.

I got this Smart Managed Switch thinking that it works with basic features of a smart switch. It lacks one of the most basic features. It doesn't show the complete MAC address of the device connected to the port. I already have this switch in production for over a week. If it needs to learn the port connections it should have updated itself by now. This switch is OK if used as unmanaged switch. I contacted tech support to walkthrough the GUI and get the MAC address of device associated with the port. Went through the GUI but long story short, I was told it does not have that feature (?).

A switch to save the day

This switch has made my life so much easier it has allowed me to easily set up vlan for my customers cameras and sip phones. It has allowed me to separate my guest wifi and normal network traffic with ease. I will so buy more on my next project
