Mine did come in fine ball granules, which assists greatly with melting! Bear in mind, as with all stearic acid products sold directly to consumers, this is not pure stearic acid. That stuff is only available in large quantities, and typically sold directly to major manufacturers for specific needs. However, the fatty acid profile of this is excellent for creating a cleansing, thick, creamy lathering soap, especially with the addition of a little coconut oil. You could make something extremely simple, cheap, and effective utilizing this ingredient. The company is very responsive and helpful, and when I made a mistake, they actually helped me make up for it. Please contact them directly if you need the exact ratios for formulating.

This is pretty good stuff! I use it in my soap and cosmetic making, and it hardens soaps and thickens my creams beautifully. i am purchasing it again for a second time. It comes in a fine granular consistency. Will continue to purchase it.

I bought this to solidify cooking oil and it worked like a charm. It dissolve quickly in the oil which was still hot from cooking and as it cooled, it’s solidified into a thick mass which I could easily scoop out of the pan, put in a plastic bag and throw away. I like it very much.

Does exactly what I want. I'm very curious about the exact breakdown of stearic acid vs palmitic acid (or any other fatty acids) in this product, though. Info doesn't seem to be available anywhere....
