Dimensions Japanese Woman Counted Cross Stitch Kit, Ivory 18 Count Aida Cloth, 5" x 7"

This piece is just exquisite. I love the gold thread weaved through the obi. I made a couple changes ... Japanese art is very simple and the background stitching makes the piece look very busy. I took those out after just a few rows and I like it much better without them. I also omitted the green lazy daisy stitches on the obi. It's probably because I'm not very good at making them, but I like the piece much better without them. It looks fabulous in a deeply matted picture frame (so the stitches aren't squished). I'm starting the companion piece, "elegant geisha" today --- can't wait! The directions/legend are very good and I love the pre-sorted thread. The 18 count Aida can be a little difficult to work with, but I like the look much better. "Mai" has a lot of very delicate lines that would be difficult to accomplish with larger squares. Took me a couple weeks to complete - working on it for a few hours each day.

The picture for this on is just stunning. When I got the actual package, I just had to stare for a moment. The thread is very neatly organized and really colorful. I am a beginner to needlework so my opinion may be off, but I thought the thread quality was very good. The package came fast and included the picture, instructions, the fabric, a needle and the thread. I don't know if the pre-organized thread is common or not but as a complete beginner I found it amazingly helpful. I plan to buy many more of these as I have found working on them to be so much fun. Updated Review: After working on the Samurai project for a week or so, I found that the needle included in these kits are...in one word: Cheap. It started to bow in the middle and it's changing colors as I hold it in my fingers. This is literally the only fault I have found with these products. I will be buying more of these kits and I love them. I just plan to buy a better needle separately to use from now on. It definitely works if you want to just start out and see if you like it, but for anyone who intends to do more than one, purchase a better needle.

I haven’t started this project but I have done it before. It’s the second time I will be doing this particular project and I’m super excited about it. This project is very very fun to work on. Usually I get tired of a project and will take a break from it for a few weeks because I can get tired of looking at the same colors over and over. This project is absolutely beautiful and colorful. I didn’t get tired of working on this one because there were so many colors and it wasn’t repetitive. I enjoyed working on this one every step of the way so much that I’m doing it again. I am giving the first one away to a friend but I loved it so much I wanted one for myself so I bought it again. I definitely recommed this one. You’ll have a great time working on it. Keep in mind the picture I posted is from the first one I did and it does need to be washed because I never cleaned it when I finished it.

Gorgeous pattern. It is a counted cross stitch so the pattern isn't printed directly on the fabric. The pattern that came with the fabric was clear, and gave you a recommended order to do the parts in. It also came with a clear overview of how to do each type of stitch which is great for beginners or people who haven't cross stitched in a while. The squares and holes ARE tiny, so if that is a problem this probably won't be a great design for you to do. I was worried about running out of thread so I used as much as possible then had lots left over, so as long as you don't waste thread you will have plenty and don't need to painstakingly use every last bit. Note: I accidentally used an extra strand of thread for the tree outline in my picture, but because there are no half stitches I think I actually like it better this way because it looks smoother.

I ordered this at the same time I ordered Mai. I got Mai first and started her right away. I am so anxious to start this piece! The colors are beautiful and I am looking forward to displaying them together. I know the squares are small, but I like the smaller squares over the bigger ones as I feel it allows for more delicate detail. All in all, I feel that this is an excellent product.

I ordered it thinking it was stamped (totally my fault), was intimidated at first to start since it has been a long time since I did my last counted cross stitch. But once I started I really enjoyed it. It is really beautiful. Along with cross stitch it has some other stitches like French knots, back stitch etc which enhances the beauty. It took me some time to finish but it is worth the patience, if you are a beginner I wont recommend it. It is delicate and elegant. Very satisfied with the end product.

This is a really pretty cross stitch. Just the right size too. Medium difficulty due to the variety of colors, but perseverance will pay off. It was a gift for a friend. Definitely worth the time investment to complete this.

The cross stitch was supposed to come with dark blue and extra dark blue thread, but they’re exactly the same color. I checked multiple times, especially in the daytime and natural light.
