They are not grown in the United States. They would say it if they were. They don't even show the back of the bag in any of their photos.

Q: I was wondering if you ever got your pecans tested for the amount of phytic acid present as it seems to vary a lot?

My reading indicates that phytic acid can vary from nut to nut, tree to tree, and varies so much that one would have to test every bag individually since the source trees vary so much. I personally like phytic acid because I snack with roasted nuts and do not eat raw nuts with meals, so any worries about absorption of iron, zinc and calcium is not a problem since phytic acid is drastically reduced with roasting and any effect does not last until the next meal. The reason I like it is because it is protective against kidney stones and cancer, especially colon cancer.

Organic does not = no chemicals. Chemicals can be our friend or our foe - it depends which chemicals. You are made of chemicals. So am I. If you mean to ask whether lab made chemicals are employed as opposed to "naturally occurring" - I assure you certain lab made chemicals are indeed safer than certain naturally occurring chemicals. Learning which chemicals are which - therein lies the rub. What I learned is this - water bathed pecans do not cause seizures. PPO can. It matters not if the water is naturally occurring or lab made - water is safer for humans than PPO.
