Does the underside of the mat have grip or will it slide on a hardwood floor?

The underside is slick, not textured. However, this is a high quality, thick mat. I personally have not had an issue with it slipping on any surfaces I’ve used it. I think it is heavy enough to stay put regardless of surface.

how far apart are the grommets?

Well the description says the mat is 26” wide and the grommets are set inside that width at the top so I am guessing they are about 24” apart. I bought 2 of these mats, one for each daughter-in-law, and they both love them for the size and plush thickness.

Does is come with a bag?

Can this mat be rolled up to take to a class?

Yes it can, when rolled up the diameter is about the same as a 1 gallon paint can, very nice mat.
