What does non-toxic mean? To Earhy, non-toxic means that the products you use should not adversely affect your health or environment. The fragrances they use come from natural sources and aren't synthetics. Their belief that Earthy products are non-toxic is based on the safety data sheets they receive from their suppliers on the ingredients they use. Earthy also relies on results found by third-party testing data for non-toxicity, results confirming that are products are indeed non-toxic. Like with many natural products, though, their products could result in eye irritation, and people with skin sensitivities may have a reaction to some of the fragrances or ingredients in their products. What constitutes biodegradability? Earthy's definition is that all Earthy products will eventually biodegrade within the environment over time. For their products to biodegrade once they enter the waste stream depends on the amount of sunlight, air, and water present once the product is used. Microbes within the environment will eventually eat their ingredients. How fast depends on the above-mentioned factors. They also have had their products tested for bio-based content and are now certified USDA BioPreffered. Greywater safe means that if you use a water catching system within your home for your laundry machine, or sinks; the combination of their product and the water left from using their product can be re-used in grey water applications. Most grey water applications include washing vehicles, flushing toilets, and watering plants. Non-GMO? Earthy states on their labels that they do not use genetically modified ingredients in their products.
