Finally a yoga dvd instructor who is easy to listen to!!
This is a great dvd for an absolute beginner like me. Mr Yee has a really relaxing and not at all annoying voice and for me that was crucial (as petty asit sounds). I have listened to other yoga instructors whose voices have really distracted me or who have had a way of explaining things that isnt easy to follow. The poses are easy enough for a beginner but you remain challenged by them as you get better through practice. The sessions are the perfect length for before work and dont require a massive change in your routine. I feel energised and relaxed (at the same time) after each session and the instructions are clear and easy to follow and i dont lead to bad habits. I have done one or two yoga classes before and can tell that i am not going to develop bad practices and poor technique doing these sessions. He tells you enough for you to be sure you have the position right.Doing yoga at home is great for me - completely unintimidating and can fit in around my schedule. It is especially great during uk winters when i can exercise without trudging off in the snow!

Stimulating!
Due to our Yoga teacher retiring , we had difficulties finding another class near home. We had being doing yoga for over 10 years so we decided to give a DVD ago. Our teacher said go for an intermediate. Up popped A.M yoga good reviews and 20 minute sessions which we thought great as we were more to stick to it! (We only did yoga once a week, nothing in between naughty I know)We have been using it for 2 weeks now. If that is intermediate what we have been doing for 10 years was easy. It's gives us a work out. We wish we found it sooner may be we would be able to touch the floor with our heads in a forward bend now! I am 53 my husband is 61 we both have creeping bones and stiff muscles we plan to stick at this we are feeling the benefits already.Think you do need to know the yoga names and how to do the poses otherwise you spend a lot of time watching the DVD rather than doing it, but that's the same for any DVD.

Excellent for mornings!
I got this for mornings for the purpose of getting into a relatively regular morning routine. The 20-25 minutes of practice is excellent for the mornings. I find the set well thought out, Rodney is a good instructor and he does emphasize that you must not force or will your morning stiff body into anything.Did not give five stars because I find Rodneys description of asanas etc. a bit anatomical and hence not so easy to grasp for the first few times you do the sequence. And perhaps more soothing voice would be nice :) But all and all I'm mighty pleased.I've done yoga on and off during the past 10 years. I've more or less switched to home sessions with dvds and I find myself not competing and concentrating somehow better. This and the few others (namely Tara Lee's) I have have kept me busy for the past six months and I'm not bored at all.

Wonderful
I have attended a number o yoga classes over the years and practiced with a few DVDs. Some were quite good and came with good instruction. But Rodney Yee has something really special that is difficult to name. He is naturally gifted and understands yoga on a spirit-mind and body level. For the first time doing yoga I feel that integration. The instruction is the most thorough I have ever experienced enabling me to reach for perfection in my poses. And when I am done, in just twenty minutes my state is peaceful. I feel fulfilled in a physical sense and I am always glad I woke up 30 minutes early to fit it in before my day begins. Totally worth it especially if you're busy and have young children.I started with AM Yoga so I could start afresh with a new instructor. I have recently bought the intermediate DVD and will definitely be using that soon.

Great for introducing a morning practice
I have been doing this DVD every morning for a couple of weeks and it has really helped me motivate myself to get up early and practice, as each routine is under half an hour. Each covers different areas - back bends, forward bends, twists, standing and hip openers. It's in an Iyengar style, so there is a lot of focus on making physical adjustments. The instructions focus on the more subtle physical aspects so it's good for people who have been doing yoga for a while. He occasionally uses blocks, bolsters and belts, but most asanas are done without. It's probably clear enough for flexible beginners, but he doesn't explain how to modify the poses if you are stiff. It's filmed in a very beautiful and strange landscape, Glen Canyon, and I like the subtle background music. Rodney Yee has a very calm voice and presence.

A Great Way to Start Your Day
A.M. Yoga For Your Week is a great way to start your day, every day. After just ten day of waking up to 20 minutes of yoga I can guarantee that this is my new routine. The classes are just long enough to get you powered up for the day and short enough to fit into your morning routines.Rodney Yee explains all the different positions a very good way that makes his instructions easy to follow. Rodney is very flexible and following him is very challenging in a positive way. After just six months of yoga I can easily follow the programs and I still have lots more to learn from the DVD to last a lifetime.I can highly recommend this DVD.

Disappointed
Although I like Rodney Yee's approach to yoga I was very disappointed with this DVD. I already have AM PM Yoga which I use regularly and think is brilliant. I had expected this DVD to be similar to the AM PM DVD with five separate but mixed yoga sessions, one for each day of the week, instead each session concentrates on one particular area, i.e. one is standing poses, one is twists, one backbends, one forward bends and the last one hip openers and you can't mix them up. I hope someone will come up with such a DVD.
