When combined, a process called saponification happens, creating soap. A mix without lye will be a bucket of chunky, fatty oils floating in water. In order to increase lathering, or to make it tear free, and some other reasons, other manufacturers may add other ingredients such as perfumes, etc. that is causing impurity. Anatolian soaps do not have those additional ingredients and only composed of three main elements: 1- Soap base means the alkali (the most used alkali is sodium hydroxide - lye) 2- Olea Europaea (which is olive) oil - vegetable oil 3- Aqua (water) Our products here, does not have anything in them animal based. 100% vegetable based, hence you will have a vegan product. Additionally, they are not tested on animals, so cruelty free. Please note that in humid environments / weather conditions, you may find that these olive oil bars are sweating olive oil. Even though the bars are wrapped in a hard case, the casing carton would suck some of these bursting olive oil and may have stains. This is just because the soap bars are made with a lot of olive oil and also proving the point that there are no chemicals etc used to prevent such cases.

Lovely natural soap
I was looking for a natural soap bar to wash dishes with and stop buying dish soap in plastic bottles to cut back on waste. This natural soap is really nice with just a few ingredients, vegan friendly, and absolutely no plastic packaging! It has a nice and light earthy smell. Could be used for hands or body, too. To wash dishes, I simply wet the dish brush or the soap bar, scrub the bar a few times to lather the brush, and wash dishes. They end up squeaky clean.

I do felting & it’s important to use non toxic, non harsh soaps.I love the way the felted material feels, so clean, not harsh on fabric, not to mention my hands! I love it!!

I loved it
I loved it. A friend of mine had gifted me a soap bar from the southeast mediterranian part of Turkey long time ago. This soap is as good as that one. I use it to wash my body and hair.

Very nice soap. Just what I was expecting!
The soap is just right. Makes good suds, mild but nice smell, and just the right amount of olive oil. My old man skin loves it! Nice packaging and decent price. I will buy this again.

Major Allergic Reason!
There must be more to the ingredients than described, I haven't had an allergic reaction like this since poison oak, even looks like I got into poison oak.
