Sizzling With Touches of Humor
I confess that I actually purchased this kindlebook that is My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One Night Stands by Chelsea Handler by the October 8, 2016 timeframe via Amazon from money made from recent university employment. Chelsea Handler definitely unleashes unrestrained writing in a bold and creative way to highlight how both her childhood life and her later adult years indirectly influenced how she approached her casual and more serious relationships. She also definitely injects a sense of adventure in her writing via highlighting some of the multiple journeys and experiences that life took her when describing the people she knew in her love life and those who lived with her. Even moments where she describes some people in harsh ways, she also shows her humanity (for instance she at first admits to wanting to avoid taking a trip/traveling with a particular person and she outlines reasons way though she shows her heart/empathy/compassion when she notices and pays attention/observes how the person initially acts when Handler at first has reservations about going on the trip). There are multiple more soap opera details in this kindlebook which adds to the allure of this kindlebook.

Meaningless ramblings at best
This book was recommended to me. It made me think a lot about the person who recommended it. It's just a compilation of some girl getting too wasted to have any cognizance of who's entering her (but angrily demanding they enter her) then complaining about life in an extremely hypocritical fashion before drinking herself into oblivion again and treating all those around her like garbage. If this is your lifestyle and you'd like to feel okay about it and have someone to relate to in it then I can see you enjoying this. Otherwise, holy hell. Tucker Max at least tried to make his horrible stories sound funny with his writing style. Liking sex is all good and fine, but turning unhealthy and destructive habits into virtues when you have influence over others is nothing short of irresponsible and reprehensible.

Chock full of LOLZZZZZ
OMG I just about lost it reading this book! Honestly it was so funny, I had to stop myself from laughing out loud on the subway so people didn’t think I was a lunatic. I love Chelsea’s humor. At least in book form. I don’t think her TV shows have been remotely funny. In fact, I often think she’s an annoying B. But in writing form? HILARIOUS!Chelsea wrote this book way before Broad City, Amy Schumer, and Issa Rae. She was one of the first to capitalize on the raunchy funny female thing.Having said that, I didn’t find anything here to be particularly graphic. I don’t get people who are like "I’m not prudish at all but I didn’t like this book." If you found this book to be too much, you're probs on the prudish side. There’s more sex on network TV. We’re in a post-SATC era folks. I mean the girls of Broad City talk about pegging for God’s sake. If sex isn’t your thing, this isn’t the book for you.

I'm not a prude...
I bought "My Horizontal Life" with my eyes wide open. I'm familiar with Chelsea Handler and her comedy. I like it, actually. She's usually hilarious to me. I expected it to be raunchy and irreverent. I enjoy raunchy and irreverent. I expected a lot of alcohol and sex. I like alcohol and sex. The problem was...I also expected it to be funny!I got probably thirty percent through the book before I started laughing. Much of the first part of the book is nearly painful to read. It's a series of one night stands which is what I expected. They're just too distasteful for my tastes, and that's pretty hard to do. I'm not sure what it was, but they weren't funny at all. As a previous reviewer said, the "ick factor" overrode anything funny about them for me. There are some good chapters. The last half of it is all right and more in line with her usual comedy. I found myself laughing through most of the last few chapters.I just wish the first half was better. I'm not sorry I bought the book because it did give me some laughs. I was disappointed with the first half of it, though. I nearly quit reading before I got to the good part.

Not a Hilarious Read, But Entertaining and Eye Opening.
I was debating on whether or not I should give this book a 3 star rating or a 4 star rating. In it's own right - it's a 4 star cause it's such an entertaining book and it draws you right into her crazy sex life that she experiences during certain stages in her life. I have to admit, there were times in this book where I was completely turned on by what she was describing - a little hard to believe since I'm a guy and I still WATCH porn regularly.I thought of giving it a 3 star cause, being that I am a guy, I'm not sure I would have bought this book if my female friend didn't recommend it. This book is definitely catered toward a female audience who is very open about their sexuality and discovering their sexuality and who are more accustomed to Chelsea's comedy which is catered toward females. But what was really interesting, as I read this book, I found myself understanding my female friend who recommend this book, a bit more. My friend was a heavy party goer at a real young age, and a lot of what I read about Chelsea, almost reflected what my friend went through, and probably what a lot of beautiful women who party at a young age go through as well. So it definitely brought a different perspective to me on what goes on in the mind of some women who started an early sex and party life.I would recommend this book to a lot of women who have a great sense of humor, and are open to sexuality. I would recommend this book to men who are open minded, want to be entertained, and willing to see things from a different point of view.

just eh
I bought this book on a whim to break up all the self help books I read. It was a comical quick read that give me a few laughs. Overall, I wasn’t crazy about it and would have been fine not reading it at all. For the price, I don’t regret buying it but I have no intention to read any of her other books because of it.

Funny and uplifting read
Funny and uplifting read. This is never going to be a classic but it was a bit of fun and entertained me whilst on a four hour flight. Would highly recommend for poolside reading this summer.

Giggling in public places!
I would to say I can compose myself in public situations but obviously I cannot. Some of the situations were too good to be true. I highly recommend this book if you to get yourself into ridiculous situations without knowledge of how or why.

Not worth reading
Neither funny nor erotic. Amazingly monotonous. Lacking in tension, desire or even anticipation. Zero effort plots. You'll spend more time thinking about anything else than the scenes and characters in this book when you attempt to read it as there is little to grab the attention.
