The 1st thing you need to know is this cable is only compatible with the imx 219 chipset. so if you have a pi camera module 3 then this is not the cable for you. There is one on amazon, but it is not available at this time. when connecting this to the camera board. the camera riibon (this one) should go towards the data ribbon that came with your camera. the camera connector should be strait out from the camera. oh and just to help the newbies. dont forget to add dtoverlay=imx219 to the config file.

I was looking for this but have yet to actually use it properly though. It's really thin and compact as it seems. Although I do wish it were white due to my project possibly overheating idk maybe I'm overthinking it. I hooked up 2 diffrent camera types to this. 1st is the one I think in the picture, a Raspberry Camera V2. 2nd is the Arducam Autofocus the little silver one. Both of these detach from the main camera component, u can then attach it to the ribbon cable. A nice piece to prototype with that allows a few types of Arducam to hook up to. Very good for robots for sure.

I ordered this extension cable when I purchased the https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08RHTG845/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 camera. It does NOT work with this camera. At first I assumed the cable was defective, but after receiving a replacement, it still does not work with the autofocus USB camera. I have not found any other extension cable for this camera. Without the extension cable the camera works fine.

I ordered one and followed the instructions on how to connect both sides of the cable from board to camera. Instructions were pretty clear, but the camera doesn't grab images. I figured it got banged up because Amazon ships these things loosely along with whatever other heavy item you might have coming that day, so I ordered a second one. Same result. The camera is detected but no images show up using guvcview. Reconnect camera to board without the extension and it works just fine. Dare I order a third?
