Q: Does it have an analog setting?

It DOES have an analog setting but the pedal itself is digital, meaning, it is digital delay EMULATING different modes and the modes in question are 'analog' and 'modulated delay.' It's definitely different from an actual analog pedal but does a great job of mimicking the analog delay effect. Plus it has more on offer of course such as a 40 second hold/loop function.

Q: do you need to get the ac adapter separate?

It does not come with an ac adapter. I purchased one separately. It's definitely worth getting if you use the pedal for any extended amount of time.

Q: Can you use the fs5u footswitch to control record/overdub/ and stop with the boss dd& hold mode?

Unfortunately no, the FS-5U is only compatible with the DD-7 to function as Tap Tempo.

Boss is supperb 👌👌

Bilt like a tank.. awsome qulity..tone is also nice an clear.. crisp effact delay i use zoom g1xon but this is not for stage performance so i want some serios effact i really liked boss paddle and in future want to buy distortion reverb and other effact paddle

Boss delay dd 7 is the best.. Go for it, you won't regret..it's complicated but once you familiarize yourself with it you can create new sound
