Great kit, fit my 1982 15hp Johnson perfectly. I recommend some grease on your impeller and seal for initial start

Everything was great although it would have been awesome to have a little packet of grease or some simple step by step instructions

Let me start with this was a 100% accidental purchase. After months of collecting dust in my parts box, my coworker (an older gentle man) calls, and says to me, 'what do you know about outboards?' I reply well, quite a bit, what is going on? His retort is 'my motor isnt pumping any water, do you know what that could be?' Yup. A water pump, or a thermostat. What kind of motor? 'A johnson 15 horse motor.' Ten minutes after i get my hands on his motor, the lower unit is off, and it is painfully obvious that this service had not been done in a very long time.I walk to my box and pull out this small box thinking: lets see if they got this right.( because we all know 4 out of 5 times not everything is perfect) and to my amazement, everything, was 100%perfect. Spot on from housing, housing bolts, inlet grommet, key, clear on down to the housing plate. If you have a 9.9, or a 15, get this, just to have as a back up. You wont be disappointed.
