Bormioli Rocco Misura Wine Carafe, 8- 1/2 Ounces

I host a lot of dinner parties with a lot of friends and I was looking for a classier way to have pitchers of water (and other drinks) without having to use the cheap-o, ugly plastic ones. As always, I turned to Amazon and when I found these I was blown away. I couldn't believe that for $5 I could get a glass, kind of vintage looking, very charming way to serve water. Of course, there's always the this-is-too-good-to-be-true doubt. But let me tell you, this is good and this is true. I ordered 5 of them. All came in perfect shape! Each was awesomely wrapped in its own sleeve of bubble wrap and the box was the exact size for them so there was no room to get tossed around inside. I even saw the UPS guy carelessly throw the box onto my front porch (*insert rant about UPS) and not a single scratch come to my bottles. One quick tip for future buyers: the opening of the bottle is wide, but it goosenecks down to about half that size where it connects to the main part of the bottle. I found it to be just a little bit more work to get ice down, but it was just a matter of finding pieces small enough. Seriously not a big issue, but from one party planner to the next, it's nice to know to leave yourself a little extra time to fill the bottles with ice. I have received many compliments and questions on these carafes. I could not be more pleased with this purchase. I'm even considering ordering more. Just because I LOVE them. Do yourself a favor and order these bottles.

Wow, I was not expecting this to be as nice a quality as it is--especially for the price. It is thick, sturdy glass, made in Italy just as description says, with a wide enough neck (and tall enough) that I could use it as a country-chic vase if I wanted. I purchased this to use as a carafe to put in my guest room filled with filtered water for my overnight visitors. It is truly 1 litre (a bit more) and looks like it will stand the test of time and use. It's good enough quality & large enough that I think I will use it for serving red wine or punch, etc. at small dinner parties. One thing that is less obvious in the product picture is the logo on the front of the carafe. I'm attaching a photo so you can see what I mean. I don't mind at all because it adds to the character of the item .. but it might come as a bit of a surprise to other customers. Nonetheless, great product! I may get a couple more of these. Definitely recommend.

It is actually quite lovely. It holds a large volume and seems to be good quality!

What a bargain - was looking for a water pitcher to put on the table during dinner to go with my " Luigi Bormioli Set of 4 Michelangelo Masterpiece 19.25-Oz. All Purpose Goblets" that I also have/love. At first I was looking for some fancy lead-free crystal pitcher...after seeing these and I could get 2 for $10, the low price lured me in and I had to order them (plus I could always return them if they were terrible). Well I am pleased to say they are great - they pull off the rustic/"you're at a cafe in the streets of Europe"/Pottery Barn look perfectly. They look like you either brought them home from your last trip to Europe or paid crazy "Pottery Barn"-like prices to make it look like you did. The imprints/lettering/stamping on the bottle looks great - just the right amount to make it look rustic and authentic. They are strong/durable, hold a good amount of water, and don't take up tons of table space which adds to their practicality/usability. Also, the water pours very nicely - doesn't drip or run down the side after pouring. We've gotten several compliments so far and are very pleased! P.S. They don't fit that well in a standard dishwasher - it physically fits on the bottom rack but it's too tall and blocks the top rack sprayer arm from rotating. We have a Bosch dishwasher with the 3rd rack/tray for silverware at the top - so maybe it'd fit in a dishwasher without that 3rd tray and w/the top rack in its highest position (but then your Luigi Bormioli Masterpiece glasses won't fit haha). Not deducting any stars (not even half of 1) b/c they are still easy to clean by hand, look great, work great, and are very inexpensive!

You'd think that with dat bright "C" rating from da Board of Health we'd haves problems keepings da joint packed, right? All the "rumors" about "bugs" in the pasta insteads of the meatsball. That theys all in hospitals rights now is justs a coinkidences. Now I was trying to brightens up da place for no reason and not because of dat so-called "expose" from da local news channel. And I ran across dis one liter Bormioli Rocco Misura PZ Carafe. And suddenly, I was thinkings of my mudder and da old country, where everything was in litereses. It made me cry. (And no, my cryingses didn't go into the sauce! Screw you, newscasters!) I puts theses Bormioli Rocco Misura PZ Carafe filled with water on all my tables, all twos of them, and suddenly things started picking up! A developer came by and had a lunch there, and he said he'd be making this here place great and offered me tons of money to buy my business so he could builds it everywheres in the country in his office buildings and hotels! So when you sees a Sleazy Stevie's at your local Trump Tower, or Trump Building, it's all thanks to these here Bormioli Rocco Misura PZ Carafes!

As someone who is getting away from plastics in general, this is a well made product that can be used for various purposes. It is sturdy, won't stain, scratch or collect odors. I love the fact it is made in Italy, not China. I definitely would purchase again for self or as a gift.

I just wanted a simple water container that takes up little room in my refrigerator. This is a stylish, 1-liter carafe that will hold chilled water. (I live in an area with very drinkable water that does not need to be filtered. My fridge does not have a built-in water dispenser.) Perfect for the price. The one possible issue is that the neck is narrow and you will need a brush to clean it (unless you put it in the dishwasher.) Since I only plan to put water in it I do not care. Like most carafes, it does not have a cap, so keep that in mind. I wanted a robust glass, rather than plastic, container. In short, just what I needed!

Just what I was looking for!! Attractive and functional. It holds about a liter and looks great on the table.
