Hello yes it can be used on the wrought iron gate. That is exactly what I used mine on. It works very well, it’s sturdy and does a good job.

Is this a pack of 2 hinges??

Yes. All of Safetech hinges are sold in pairs with all the screws and Allen keys required.

will these help stop the gate from slamming shut on windy days?

These hinges are self closing with the ability to adjust the closing speed. Weight of the gate with always changing wind, makes it a bit of a challenge to find the best setting of the hinge.
