Another Good Buy From Daniel Young
This book has some wonderful black and white photos of Paris. So, if you want to frame them, buy an extra book. The recipes are good too. Some of my favourites come from isle saint louis. How can you go wrong when this book is so inexpensive. If you love paris, you will like this book if not for the photos but for the recipes. The recipes are easy and simple to reproduce or replicate. It is kind of fun to try them first and then go to the restaurants on your next visit to Paris. Each recipe is from specific restaurants, cafes and bistros in Paris. This cookbook offers a fun trip without ever leaving your kitchen. A must buy!

GET READY TO PACK UP TO PARIS
Wonderful book that not only inspires you to cook up some authentic french food but has you wanting to get there anyway you can. Daniel Young does a great job in giving you personal descriptions of 'authentic' bistros and enamors you with his food travels. Add to the fact he's put in a few nice black and white photos of the bistros and your well on your way to 'gettin down'n'french' in your own kitchen Check out the lemon tarte with prune preserve..i can't wait to try it. Thanks Daniel you gave us a handsome book by which to dream and cook by.

Simply a wonderful, go to Paris cookbook.
Cafes in Paris are relatively lower down the food chain than the haute cuisine palaces, bistros, and brasseries. Their kitchens are however, often equal to or surpass their higher profile cousins. Daniel Young has chosen a broad range of recipes that exemplify this idea. This is a great book to search for a relatively straight forward, Parisian meal. Add a bottle of water for the table, some wine, and a meal-ending cafe and be transported.I have the author's bistro book as well, I find the cafe version more accessible and satisfying.

2 books in 1 !!
This is a cool book. Paris and recipes! I gave this to a friend, and she was happy with the dessert recipes. She prefers pastry baking and she has done a few already. One recipe is for something with 11 egg yolks!

difficult recipes, not appealing sounding food, and low on photos
I expected more of a coffee table book by the photo. The photos are few and far between. Where I'd expected this to be a wlaking tour book of the city with a recipe here and there form a restaurant, it's actually just a compilation recipe book. And perhaps I'm just not as into traiditonal french food, but aspics? (meat jelly basically) It's just not really what I would consider usable recipes.

Excellent book about Paris cafes and their recepies
Very good book about French cooking and 50 Paris cafe's which do the cooking. Also check out this author's book about coffee, it's great too.
