I have purchased several books from this series, Classic Starts, for my 9 year old and they are perfect. The story is not "dummied" down, but it is a much easier read and the story remains intact. If you have any young readers interested in the classics this is a great way for them to go.

I've tried everything to get my son reading - he's a 'good' reader, just reluctant. We've read a few of the Classic Start series as bedtime-reads - a great way to introduce children to some of the great classics - but when this one arrived he declared he would read it all by himself. And he hasn't stopped yet, OK only half-way through but I'm hoping this will be one book he'll finish and be inspired then to read others. In my son's words "It's very adventurous, I recommend it!"Enough said.
