Spanish Leather Shaving Cream 75g shaving cream by Geo F. Trumper

Smells great, makes a great lather. Slick and cushioning.

This is my 1st time using a GFT product and I'm very pleased. I'll be purchasing other products. The scent on this is strong- it explodes in the shave bowl as you begin lathering, and lasts on the face for multiple passes, normally 2 for me. A little goes a long way to build a thick, creamy, lather that is very moisturizing and provides for a close, comfortable, irritation-free shave with a good DE razor & blade. I've used it twice now with different blades, and love it. I hope to buy the matching aftershave and cologne, it smells that good. The scent is more old school, saddle leather, with musk and floral notes, not like a modern motorcycle jacket scent. It pairs up nicely with some aftershaves I already have with similar notes.

Geo. F. Trumper makes the finest men's care products available. The cream gives a perfect shave. The Spanish Leather scent is delightful.

As the title of my review implies, this cream does have a leathery masculine smell, which is great. Don't worry about it being too strong as it comes on strong at first but ends up sweet in the end. I have tried many luxury shaving creams, and I still feel that the best line of shaving products are Truefitt & Hill. Not to say that this cream doesn't live up to Trumper's standards, but, it's not as rich and explosive as any of the Truefitt & Hill shaving creams. It did provide me with a slick, close shave after three passes using 10 Feather Razor Blades NEW Hi-stainless Double Edge. I must admit, I did use this with the following pre-shave oil: Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort Pre-Shave Oil (Large - 4 oz.). It just didn't lather as well as my Truefitt creams or even some of the Taylor of Old Bond Street creams.All summed up, I would recommend this cream to be used in your shaving rotation whenever you feel like it. I also purchased this cream to use when I travel, since it's only sold in a travel tube for now. Just don't expect it to be as luxurious as shaving with Truefitt & Hill Grafton Shaving Cream or Taylor of Old Bond Street Avocado Shaving Cream in a Bowl [Health and Beauty]. Definitely use a silvertip badger brush with this cream. I use a Parker Safety Razor 100% Silvertip Badger Bristle Shaving Brush (Deluxe Olivewood Handle) and Brush Stand. And of course, my doubled edge safety razor of choice is a Edwin Jagger De89bl Double Edge Safety Razor Chrome Plated.Happy Shaving.

Flip top lid broke off one my trip and a bunch ended up in my socks and underwear. So the cap is, in my opinion, flimsy. But the cream performed well and smells fantastic.

All of the GFT creams perform very well, forming a thick luxurious lather very quickly with a brush. This cream has a wonderful woody, leathery sweetish fragrance. I haven't liked most leather scents, but I tried a sample of this along with Coconut, Lime, Rose, Violet, Eucris and GFT creams (at a well known Canadian shaving site) I then bought full size tubes of this, Coconut and Lime. I usually make shaving sticks out of hard soaps, but sometimes I feell like using a cream and they are great for travel.

GFT Spanish Leather shave cream! What's not to like. This stuff is fantastic, performance and scent. I purchased some for my son as well, he likes it also. Takes very little (pea size or so) to make mounds of luscious lather. Very easy to lather up, just start slightly damp and add water a few drops at a time until the lather bomb happens. This is a great shaving cream. It builds a rich full lather easily which provides a wonderful close shave. As with all Geo F. Trumper products, the quality is top notch. The fragrance of this shaving cream is spot on with the EDT and aftershave. This fine shave cream will always be in my shaving rotation. I recommend this product to all traditional shavers.

I love the scent of the Spanish Leather, although it's exactly the same as Imperial Leather soap as far as the missus and I can tell. It lathers really easily and gives excellent slickness and cushion. My only reservation is that it's quite expensive, especially while it's only available in these small tubes.

A little goes a long way. Didn't need much to work up a creamy lather. A refreshing smell, (think Imperial Leather soap). Not had any razor burns or bumps since using it.
