Madder Rose: Panic On [Audio CD]

This was a very good album that remains sadly neglected by the music listening world. Madder Rose had that addictive guitar-pop vibe, a female singer with a gorgeous voice, songs with passion and melody. And for some weird reason they never clicked with the masses. They had major label support so I don't know where things went wrong, but this album was full of good to great songs. And some, like the shimmering "Panic On" should have been monster hits, at least on college radio. If you enjoyed 80s and 90s alternative music, especially melodic songs with a guitar edge to them, check out this fine album.

I can't believe that as I look here there's been one review since 1994 and the sales rank is 214,000. It's probably not even available anymore. Talk about forgotten! This was an underground classic of it's time. Light, airy, enjoyable. Great background music, with just enough pep to step it up from their more popular contemporaries The Sundays and Mazzy Star.

It is sad that more people won't get the chance to hear this recording. Mary Lorson is awesome.

This single is the title track from the Madder Rose album of the same name. It's a great single (worth five stars really), but don't get confused (as I did) by Amazon showing the album reviews in the listing for this import single - go buy the album instead, it's worth every penny.
