Great workbook for reinforcing the words kid is learning at school!
This is a great workbook for reinforcing the words kid is learning at school and build a solid foundation for her to become a great independent reader.I really liked the idea and organization of this workbook wherein every sheet kids get an opportunity to first practice tracing (and thus building on her handwriting skills) and then recognizing by coloring the clouds (this is very engaging and builds on her recognition skills) and then recognizing by circling the use of it in a sentence and then to fill the sight word in a sentence. This gives them complete idea on how the word is used and in what context. In the end this also provides space for kids to practice few lines on their own.The lines for tracing are large. It consists of a set of three lines the top and bottom lines are solid and the center line is dotted to help kids learn to write neatly within the lines and to frame the letters appropriately. Overall the book is amazing and I recommend it.Pros:- A good selection of most frequent 100 sight words really helps the kid start to read fast- Tracing lines are large and middle guide line to help learn write neatly- Each sheet focusses on 6 different ways of learning these words to give kids plenty of opportunity- Sentences used are very simple and fun for small kids- Pages are reproducible and can be laminated and written over in a class and homeschool- Flash cards at the end of the book for all the words taught so far is very useful in reinforcing what was learntCons:- The sheets are not perforated so tearing can be a problem if not careful- The flashcards are not stock paper but normal book pages (this is already in the description of the book so was known to me before I bought)

provided lines were too small for my child to print in
The book claims suitable for children starting at age 4. My preschooler has been writing since she was 2 and a half. She was very disappointed to find out the lines to write her sight words on each page of this book were half the size of her other handwriting and sightword workbooks! She was crying in frustration. And I was very disappointed to find out my return window has expired. Kids cannot be expected to write this small at age four. I even asked a local resource teacher.
