Larger Than Life [DVD]

I remember buying Making Faces when I was a kid. It was such a great manual; no one else had ever done anything like it before. This doc was a great testament to the life and legacy of an extraordinary artist. And it's also extremely prescient. The way Kevyn talks to the camera is the way some people do their Instagram stories now! He was one of those people you could just plop in any era and they'd be trendsetters. I think they did a great job of capturing this unique, divinely gifted soul.

I loved this one best of all the docs about Kevyn. It felt like the director had better access to the folks in his orbit, so there wasn't any reason to sensationalize the story. I'll probably rent it again at some point.

Kevyn seemed like such a genuine guy who had a great passion for what he did! I would have loved to know about him when he was still alive, but this documentary about him does a great job at showing Kevyn's character!

Watched this doc because Kevin was Southern, born in 1962, and gay. I’m all those things also. I had been aware of him and his work since the 1980’s, but lost track of him. I had no idea how brilliantly talented and driven he was, nor did I know what snuffed out his life — way too soon. Hint: it wasn’t AIDS.

I was as a theatre artist in love with his make up books. I was delighted to find this documentary and find out more about Kevin

This documentary tells a story many of us can relate to, while inspiring us to follow our dreams and try to love ourselves in the process.

Great documentary on a fashion icon.Lots of good insight and pictures of that point in time.
