Okay we all know solar lights can be really good or really bad this one is amazing I put them in my tree in my yard and they were so easy to put up with the clips and the hold is very strong made it through 2 hurricanes in Florida now. They are the perfect brightness and come on right at dusk when it’s still slightly light out. The flickering effect also is a great touch. These little lights we have purchased in the past and after a couple years are still working (even after leaving outside in the cold midwest winters!). A couple finally went out this spring, so we ordered more. All four worked right out of the box. Note: they give off a soft candlelight look only -- and are not meant to light up the space. Very pretty!

I actually love these solar lanterns and I am planning on replacing some by purchasing another set. But I do have a couple of issues to be aware of. You will need to purchase the solar rechargeable batteries to extend use. But I’ve noticed that water can collect where the battery is and corrode the battery causing it to build up rust. Also some of the wires are poorly soldered and tend to pop off when changing the battery. Unfortunately when the wire has popped off, there has been no way to fix that issue and now that lantern won’t light up anymore. Even after attempting to re solder the connection.

This is a small, compact design. The LED light emitted is a warm, creamy yellow. We have 4 acres of hardwoods and lots of shade. So, I had concerns that the solar recharging might not work. I purchased small hooks to hang these lanterns from trees in a scattered pattern behind our house. The lights have been in place a few weeks and we have been pleasantly surprised that even though there is a lot of shade, the lanterns still work. They are somewhat more dim after charging on a cloudy day, but still work for a few hours. When charged on a sunny day, they work long into the night. What’s really nice is that I don’t have to do anything for them to work; they just do it all on their own. Note: I recommend, if you see other lanterns like this design, read and compare the reviews. There are ones that look exactly the same, but reviews show lantern failures right out of the box and other issues. I purchased this brand/model with consistently good reviews and then hoped they would work as described. They did.

We have a corner lot with a split rail fence, and we like to put seasonal decorations on it. The fence is quite a way from the house, so using an extension cord does not work well, and we not big fans of using batteries.These little solar panel lights are perfect! We usually use shepard hook hangers at each fence post to hang baskets of flowers. During the winter, we have evergreen wreaths on top of the basket with trailing vines hanging down the sides. These little lights clip right onto the wires for the hanging baskets and hang inside the wires just above the wreaths. They are cute during the day - just the perfect size - and they look absolutely lovely at night. They are not so bright as to distract drivers as they turn the corner and need to see anything that might be in the road. They flicker a bit, which gives them a more authentic "candle" look. Perfect!The best thing is that we put them out, turn them on auto and forget about them. We live in the northern U.S. where nights are long and days are short in the winter. These lights charge enough on a sunny day that they last all night long. They charge enough on a gloomy, cloudy, snowy/rainy day to last most of the night. When dusk comes, they turn on all by themselves. When it turns day, they turn off. Absolutely no maintenance at all, and they make it look like someone is home even when we aren't.We get a lot of compliments on these lights, and some of the neighbors say they help give hte neighborhood a warm glow that reminds them of old English lighting from the 18th century. We really like them a lot and would recommend them.
