Thoughts of Marcus Aurelius Antoninus

This book is full of wisdom. I read that General Mattis read it often and took it with him during OIF/OEF. I started reading it then, and it has been a valuable touchstone for me. Before you buy, consider which translation appeals most to you. There are several, and they are of varying levels of clarity.

I was reading the meditations of Aurelius when I stumbled upon this book. The book explains the entire mediations in plain and simple English. Reading the original or old English texts can be a challenge especially when it comes to interpreting or understanding what it being said. This book is as guide on understanding and applying the meditations in your life.A great guide.

I made the mistake of believing some of the reviews about this translation being simple and in everyday language. The translation is awkward and most of the time the sentences don’t even make sense. There is no publisher listed on the inside cover, just an isbn number. Get a better translation from a known publisher :(

Roman thought, always a fascinating subject, can't be expressed better than in words of Marcus Aurelius, and this time in accessible English, easy to read and enjoy.

Great read. Something you can always come back to and apply to your life.

This is just a different translation of Meditations in low quality print.

Sadly this is a poor quality machine translation, it reads like similary translated instructions on some cheap imported goods. Its description is misleading, insted of "classic translation" it should have said "machine translation ".
