Conformax for Long road trips, I can leave my sciatica home
This WonderGel Extreme works very well but while it cushions great, the abrupt edge, isn't ideal for my sciatica in a car. It works very well in a chair where I can put my feet up a bit on a stool below the computer desk, then the 90 degree angle edge doesn't create a problem for my leg/sciatica. It its defense, everybody and every BODY is different It might be great for you in a chair and in a car as well. I bought this one first based on reviews and am happy with it, for use in a chair at the computer, feet up a bit on a stool.I also bought the Conformax Airmax Gel Car/Truck Seat Cushion by Crinnis Corp (here on Amazon) which I use in the car on road trips, they are 15 hrs long. As my issue is sciatica, I use the Conformax in the car, then take it out from under me for a time, changing pressure, replacing it a few hours later. Alternating with/without works better than all of the time using the Conformax and definitely much better than without the ConformaxRead the issues about the Conformax and this WonderGel Extreme Seat Cushion and high temperatures in cars. When not in use I keep in covered, in the car, in back under a cover with insulating blanket over it. Sitting on it in high (summertime/in sun, closed car) may mess it up and the limited warranty. I use this AND the Conformax, very happy. The cost of both is far less than neurologist visits! Prevention is the best medicine (this from a retired healthcare worker!)In short, well worth the money, both of them together, one for the car, one for the computer chair.

Lessen Fatigue and No More Sore Butt
Bought this recently. Tested it for a full 20 hours on the road. 10 hours each way. F150 truck. Normally after about 6 hours of highway mile munching, the standard F150 seats will start to really hurt, even with stops for gas and a bit of walking around. So I gave this a try.It does sit you higher. So if you are close to the top of the vehicle normally, this may not be the thing for you.Road test results were great. No sore butt. I weigh 140lbs. This cushion definitely helped alleviate butt burn for long distance drives. It absorbs a fair bit of road shock as well. So it helps with fatigue too.It does tend to be cold if you leave it in the vehicle in winter. It doesn't seem to warm up quickly. So you may want to keep it indoors if possible and bring it out when needed. The bottom of it has some sort of non slip type surface. So just simply placing it on the seat was fine. It stayed put. It's July 2017 now and I give this a big thumbs up. I use it all year long. It has withstood the test of time. Still working great. If you have back problems and drive a pickup truck, give it a try.If I drive without it now, I notice a big difference in felt road bumps.

The Right Choice for a Car/SUV
I purchased this in February 2015 along with several other seat cushions -- Ergo21 Liquicell Original Seat Cushion, the Extra-Large TravelMate Seat Cushion, and two models of Coccyx cusions (Aylio and CushionCare). My goal was to get a cushion for my Subaru Forester in order to raise me up higher. My critical requirement was that it be highly breathable and reasonably comfortable on long trips.I've now used this cushion for seven months on both short and moderate (i.e. 8 hour) driving trips and it has won the battle hands down. None of the other options were even close to being as breathable. and all except the Ergo21 fit poorly in the car seat. The Ergo21 was very slippery and completely non-breathable. (These other cushions may be ok for other purposes, but definitely not for a car -- I've returned them.)The Conformax has a non-slip bottom and is fairly heavy so it doesn't move around a lot when you get into and out of the car (a real problem with the other cushions). The seat cushion is very sturdy and I expect it will last well (no signs of wear yet). The fabric is a little course for sitting on directly, but I've compensated by putting a bath towel over it.I highly recommend it.

OK but not great
We actually have had 4 of these for a few years. Nothing lasts forever but for the price, I think they should have lasted longer. They are still usable but have some issues. On two of them, the vinyl bottom of the covers has cracked and split to the point where if I'm wearing shorts the jagged edges dig into my legs and are very uncomfortable. On another one the cushion shifted in the cover and when my wife opened the cover to reposition it the jell was turning into a goo like consistency. Also, they aren't really that comfortable on long rides, but they are better than just the seats. My desk chair cushion is what they refer to as buckling column construction and I am super happy with it but it's not shaped for a car seat. I found one that is so I'm trying that now. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XGRT9VT/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza

Serious Support, Expensive; Worth the Price
I've owned several types of pain-preventing seat cushions over the last few years. Overall, this is my favorite one. It doesn't compress and bottom out under load and it adds a bit more than one inch to the height of the cushion of whatever seat you set it on. It is a heavier model and is not meant to be easily carried into a stadium. It even gets 'old' carrying it from my computer chair to my car seat. If you are like me, you will want to buy two of these...or even three if you need one for a reading or tv viewing chair.

Soft, but thick and cold to the touch
This seat cushion is soft and comfortable, and stays put. However, I returned it for two reasons:- It was too thick (I would say about 1.5 to 2 inches thick) and even with my seat all the way down I was too high (and I'm only 5'2"). Check your car to see if that would be an issue before ordering this item.- It was cold (this is winter-time) and because the seat cushion is so thick the heat from my heated seat didn't transfer. Also, note that the seller requires a re-stocking fee for returns - they note this in their listing so I wasn't surprised, but want others to know that there are consequences to ordering and deciding to do a return.
