49 Strand Stainless Steel Black Vinyl Coated Cable Kit 30' with 10 crimps

So after 3 years of ownership I finally decided to replace the stock rudder cored on my perception kayak with this cable. Easy job and this cable is pretty flexible and seems high quality. You get enough cable that you could probably actually do two kayaks so cut the excess off one end so you can keep the extra for another kayak or save it for a backup. Also when doing the job leave a little slack because when the cables are pulled tight it seems like it binds things up. As long as these don't end up sawing into the plastic of my kayak and they hold up I'll be pretty happy. With the coating over the wire it's pretty smooth and like I said everything seems pretty high quality so I think it'll be fine.

Used for Perception Pescador Pilot 12 to replace rudder cables. Works great and comes with ferrules.

I purchased the kayak used, I noticed it had the original braided cord and when making turns, it would be difficult at times. I watched som videos and decided to get this one. The installation is simple, but as for cutting the extra line off after installation…not so simple. I knawed the hell out of the cable with some tin snips. Finally got it done with some kitchen scissors. These are strong!Pescador Pilot 12

I wish I would’ve gone a larger diameter cable.From the information that I received on the Internet I could not tell the thickness of the cable. But I went ahead and installed it and my concern is that it is a little thin and I should’ve gone a little thicker diameter.

I purchased this to attach my kayak pedals to my trolling motor for steering. I was able to cut the cable with regular wire cutters and it is still very strong wire. I’m more than happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this product.

Worked great on my the rudder I put on my Wilderness Systems Tsunami 140 Kayak.Lesson learned, use two crimps per connection if using for a kayak rudder and use shrink tubing to seal. You will need 4 pieces of shrink tubing, and 8 crimp connectors. Watch video on YouTube on installing a kayak rudder.I need to find 4 more crimp connectors - I hope the fishing supply store has them.Time will tell if the 140lb yield strength is strong enough - I think so since not much tension is required to turn the rudder. Just make sure to make strong double crimp connections.

High quality cable and crimps. I used this to make shooting line for a speargun. Very nice stuff.
