I’ve had the shimano xt deore pedals for 2+ years with excessive hard riding, many pedal strikes, and they are still solid. Upgraded to the xtr (might as well for a few more bucks) and can already tel I will have these for a long time! ONE CON: I installed the new cleats to my shoes and the left cleat would not stay clipped in regardless of pedal tension. Foot comes out on upstroke with little force. INSTALLED OLD WORN CLEAT AND WORKS FLAWLESSLY

These are great pedals. Probably much better than I need. But it's fun to have them.

I have always gone with the cheap versions of these pedals. I ride about 600 miles a month though and notice wear over shorter periods of time on those pedals where the clips need to be tightened often etc. I have gotten quite a bit of use out of these now and after 500 miles they are as good as new. Through the rain and lots of offroad there isn't a speck of rust and I would definitely buy again when I need to.

If you want a seriously light and great pedal, look no further. This is the XTR and they are phenomenal pedals. I have them on all three of my bikes and I wouldn't settle for anything else.

Was a bit sticky new but now it clips in easier and works well.
