I just bought this little HDMI switcher because my TV, which has terrible sound, doesn't have any audio out jacks to connect to my sound system. This unit's audio out RCA jacks allows me to do that.It works great. The remote is pretty small and lacking any kind of indicators to let you know which HDMI ports you're currently connected to, but there are lights on the unit itself to indicate those things. There's a very slight delay when switching from one port to another, and I usually get a message on the TV indicating nothing is connected to the HDMI port for a second before the picture appears, but that's not a big deal to me. The main thing is it works without a hitch, and allows me to finally get good sound with my TV. I was a little worried that there might be lip sync issues or background hum, or who knows what, but there isn't - it works flawlessly. I'm very happy with this little unit.My TV (Samsung UN32EH4003 LED) has a pathetic sound system which consists of two tiny little speakers (about 2" x 1" oval, if you can believe that) and if that wasn't bad enough by itself, they aimed them straight DOWN. Sheesh. Its complete lack of audio out jacks (it doesn't even support ARC) means I'm stuck with that sound unless I intercept it before it gets to the TV and reroute it to my sound system. I don't know what Samsung was thinking. It's a great TV in every other way, but the sound issue is ridiculous. I was thinking about getting a sound bar to resolve this problem, but I could find very few of them out there that have enough HDMI ports to make this work for me, and the ones that do cost more than I really wanted to pay.This Kanaan switcher with audio out solves that problem. It allows me to have great sound with my Dish Network box, Roku player and a Western Digital My Passport hard drive on which I have a lot of movies stored. The hard drive is connected to the Kanaan switch via a Keedox Media Player which decodes the movie files (it's also a great little unit). So now I've got great sound whether I'm watching a movie from the hard drive, a Netflix movie from the Roku, or a show on Dish Network. And the whole works cost a lot less than a sound bar would have. I highly recommend this unit.As with all of my reviews, I will update this if problems arise down the road.

I've purchased five other models. Each of them have one problem or another. This Kanaan 4x2 just works.I really needed a 1x4, but I just ignore the second channel.The video image is solid.Most importantly, this device works with my Apple TV. The other switches cause my Apple TV (when playing HD movies from iTunes) to shut off audio. This is probably a digital rights management issue. The good news is that whatever the Kanaan looks like, caused the Apple TV to play both audio and video in all cases.I am also using the three other inputs for, X-Box 360, Playstation 3 and ChromeCast. All work.

I'm using 3 inputs and two outputs as well as the audio out and have had it for over a year and it's working very well. The switching can be slow if the video resolution is changed, but other than that it's very good. The longest HDMI cable run is 20 ft and I've never had any signal strength issues.

I used this to allow me to view my DirecTV and my Roku Streaming Video box to a second TV. This works like a charm and requires less button pressing to switch HDMI inputs on my remotes. I press one button for the source I want to watch on that TV, and it works perfectly, every time.

My setup includes an Apple TV box which only has DTS optical output. However, we use a projector for video and analog speakers for audio. I had originally purchased a ViewHD Premium switch which also has RCA audio output, but the sound quality was very poor and very soft and totally unusable. Amazon took it back, no questions. This Kanaan, on the other hand, sounds fantastic!

This HDMI 4X2 switch arrived well before time and works excellant.Will definitely consider this product for my future needs.

Works great for my needs. Very low profile.I was able to pass audio through the RCA or through HDMI. Very handy.
