Best value and a great machine.
I have a seven year old machine like this one, it has finally wore out a few parts, so I bought another and plan on getting parts to rebuild the old one for a spare. These machines work great and hold up, but there is a learning curve, mostly involving tobacco and moisture content of the tobacco as well as the cut. Pipe cut tobacco works great, but stay away from the puffed up stuff like the gambler brand, I use OHM, but anything that isn't puffed works great. Puffed tobacco vs. unpuffed tobacco is like a rice grain (unpuffed) compared to a rice krispy grain, (puffed), same amount of product, one is just full of air. The puffed tobacco will burn super fast and to me is just a ripoff. As for moisture, too wet, too dry, or the real fine shake just don't stuff well, it takes a little time to get it right. I take mine out of the bag and put it in a cheap plastic food container, too dry and I spritz it with a water bottle, too wet and I leave the lid off the container, the shake I pitch. The machine itself is well made with metal parts making up most of the construction, I have had to tighten the top bolt because it can work loose if you abuse it, and you will abuse at times by trying to stuff wet, dry, or fine tobacco. The shaft on the injector is plastic and mine has gotten worn out over the last seven years. The shell and inside of the Gambler machine is the same as the more expensive Top machine other than things like the color, Top and Gambler are part of the same company.

Good product
Have had this machine for a few weeks now. And I am pleased. Works well and is easy to use. Others I have used in past were hard to use and this is the first model I have used that isn't.

Works great with 100s
I really like this machine and really like that it makes 100s really well. The first day I got this machine I was able to roll up a pack in about 30 minutes as I was getting the feel on the amount to fill it with. I've only had it about 12 days now and I can sit and just watch a 30min tv show and roll two packs at a relaxing pace. I have been letting a elder lady that I check on daily use it as well and she really likes it as well. Together I would say we have rolled about 30 packs and it only jammed once when she double packed it by mistake. See the way it works is you fill the slot and when you pull the handle half way it pushes the tobacco into the injector blade then the blade injects the cigarette tube then drops the tube and repeat. She filled the slot and pulled the handle half way and noticed she for got to put the tube on the injector nozzle then she filled it again. But it was easy to fix buy taking a toothpick and pulling the tobacco out from the loading slot. Other than that this is a very well made machine all metal except for a hard plastic dowel. There is a parts list with the user guide so that means that it is probably rebuild able buy ordering parts. But if not I would buy it again with no problem. One person said that it was flimsy and he bent the handle must of REALLY over packed it. Because if a 60 year old lady with arthritis can do two packs in 30mins with ease. Then he must of overmanned because it is pretty solid. I would say clean it and maybe add a little lite oil like gun oil to the hinges now and then and you should get a long life with it.

Broke in a week
I have been making my own cigarettes for years and this machine worked great for about a week. The main injector, or spoon is attached to a very flimsy piece of plastic that broke within a week. I attempted to repair it with super-glue and it held together for 2 more days then broke in a diffierent place. The machine is all metal under the plastic cover, but the most important part of it's operation is cheap plastic. I would not recommend it. Buy a Premier Supermatic if you want one that will last.

Broke after 2 weeks
This makes great cigarettes until it breaks. There are lots of parts to it and they give you a diagram and an order sheet for the replacement parts. Don't throw it away cause you are going to need it. This machine is 90% plastic.

Be careful
The slightest overfill and the cheap plastic injector piece will break off. Cost $3 but you have to wait about a month to get it.

so far so good
I have used this machine for six months now and have no problems at all. works great. All the other machines i have checked, have had negative reviews. This is the only machine with all positve reviews,go ahead and buy it. Note the best tobacco to use should be a dry long cut.The best ones, out of ten i have tried are, direct buy, golden harvest, smokers outlet ,good stuff.Since you are going to be using pipe tobacco you will find approximately 2-3 ounces of powdery tobbaco in a 12-16 oz. bag. If you want a good cigarette and want your machine to last do the following. #1 get a tray and a collender. Put about one fourth of the bag in collender over tray and sift out powder. I do this as soon as i open the bag then store all tobacco in a plastic jar. The cigarettes will smoke better and the machine will not bind and jam as other always complain of. I have done over fourty cartons with my machine and have no problems. Works out to be $8 to $9 dollars a carton.
