Replaced PSU in Dell Studio Slim D540S
The old supply still appeared to work when shorting the PS-ON to ground in the 24-pin connector. The old supply had the green LED always lit when plugged in even when it was off which may have been the indication the supply was bad. I thought I had a bad on/off switch but it was the power supply. This supply went in easy and started right up. This supply also has the push button on the back for trouble shooting that the original did not have. Might be a little louder than the original.Update 5/22/2021: The fan was making a lot of grinding noises. I ended up replacing the fan with a $10 80mmx80mmx15mm 2-wire fan: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PPY948N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Unfortunately I bought the more common 25mm thick fan first which will not fit. With the replacement fan, things are good.

Using older desktop computer created a need for a “start up” feature! This met the need!

THIS POWER SUPPLY DOES NOT WORK WITH THE DELL OPTIPLEX 390
Description reads compatible with the Dell Optiplex 390. Well- see attached photos. Not even CLOSE to the same item. Dimensions are way off this power supply is less than half the size of the OEM one in my Dell Desktop Tower. Will be returning. I highly recommend the seller change their extremely mis-leading description so others don't have to hassle with buying simply to return it.
