Bought this globe after lot of research & studying reviews. Bought for our grand daughters 6th birthday. She loves it a do her parents!The globe is sturdy and visually attractive. The writing is clear and easy to read. Had some concerns as one review mentioned the mountain features was not a relief topography, merely a photo image, and another the light for looking at the globe in the dark was not very bright. We found the topography was raised and a good feeling when touching the outline of mountain ranges. The back light for the globe is good and bright.You have to fit the batteries with care!Overall, we are very pleased with the globe, have no misgivings about buying it and would gladly buy another one for our other grand daughters.

Perfect example of the globe, not a flat earth

Delighted with this globe, a new birthday gift several decades since I was a child! It's a good large size and the colours are beautiful, both with the gentle illumination and without. The raised relief brings it vividly to life and that's the special feature I wanted it for, as I'll not be using the interactive option. It's an excellent item, which could be made better still more by adding raised relief to the world's islands, since the only ones to have this are Greenland and Madagascar. I'd then certainly rate this globe up from 9.5/10 to a full 10/10.

The globe is generally ok, well lit and attractive.However:1) the political map is difficult to read, particularly in regard to differentiating borders and some labelling.2) the associated App is a switch and bait scam! I feel thoroughly ripped off and the reason I am returning the product. I hate being cheated. The app is the clunkiest I have ever used. There are almost no instructions. Once you have downloaded each individual section within the app, you will find that these are poorly designed 3d representations of a handful of places/animals/planets. Eg: there were about 4 planets and the sun floating around ABOVE the globe, not in their correct orbits nor positions, without any information, etc. On the Apple App Store, this only carries a generous 1Star reating, for good reaso!Could be so good but utter rubbish

Well it's certainly big, bigger than a football and despite some reviews, ours was definitely a relief globe which adds immeasurably to its appeal. 5 Year old son was really taken with it, so for that reason alone was worth every penny.Unlit, it shows the physical world - deserts, mountain ranges etc, lit, the political world - countries.I wasn't expecting too much from the app but he was very taken with it, once you've scanned a continent with your phone you can choose a variety of different options which as you move the phone around shows you animals, plants etc from that part of the world. Probably not that helpful or interesting to most adults but it's obviously aimed at younger children and for that it really does hit the mark.Takes 2 AA batteries and it does require a certain amount of care to replace these, after all its a large hollow ball but is not too difficult.I would certainly recommend this to any parent of a child with even a passing interest in geography or the rock which we live on.

not much more than a toy, the lamp not worth bothering with, as there is very little difference, cheap, ,lightweight , but is good for showing the difference between summer and winter, also, brings home just how the UK is just a small island off of mainland europe, citizens must have been crazy to vote for brexit, Africa is truly a huge country compared with tiny little UK, worth having for reference.

Have bough this twice, one for myself and one for a cousin and I would say that it was a good purchase. The only complaints I have are that the light isn't that bright and the rotation isn't that smooth, but it works well enough
