Mercer CulinaryMagnetic Knife Board on Stand, 14 1/8 x 10 1/4, Stainless Steel

This block holds my 10" knives well, unlike so many of the others. Even a 12" knife attaches to it, with the tip hanging off the bottom. I wish it were a little flatter--the very slight bow keeps the knives from being perfectly flat against it, and probably hurts the magnetic adhesion. The knives must rest their bolster against the top, or it they will slide downward. With that caveat, they hold securely, but the whole thing is heavy and sturdy enough that it doesn't move when I pull a large knife off of it. And, it looks nice, shows off my fancy blades, and (most importantly) doesn't dull the blade or scrape the sides.

Love how it looks, the magnet is strong enough for heavier knives, very handy access to my most-used knives, and it keeps my sharpest knives sharp because I’m not inserting them in a wooden block, which dulls the blades. Great product.

Take this review in context. Star systems are stupid, so actually read the review. Compared to lower end products, in the thirty to forty dollar or less range, this product would be more like a 4-4.5 star product in my eyes. However, in this higher price range, I believe this product is underwhelming, and thus deserves three stars (AKA average) for one primary reason. Starting with the good: This product is sturdy and sexy out of the box. It looks good, and the magnets are strong/the base is heavy. Unfortunately, the sexy aspect didn't last long for mine. One week into owning this product, I took a knife off the block and it scratched the block badly. I wasn't careless, but I wasn't careful either. The finish on the wood is incredibly thin, and because of this, the slight touch of the tip of a knife to the block with scratch it. I'm planning on apply some wood finish to see if it fixes the problem. If it does, I'd rate this product more so in the 4-4.5 star range. We shall see. **IF** you are an extremely careful person and make sure that the knifes blade does touch the wood, then then buy this product. You won't regret it. Know that going into it though. Also, don't rely on stars for a purchase. That's a dumb way to assess a product.

After almost ten years of having the same knife set, I wanted a new set and knife block/board. I loved the design of this board and how sleek and pretty it was. I also lucked up and was able to get a slightly used one from Amazon warehouse deals, so I scored a great deal! The block was in nearly perfect condition and is nice and heavy. It is sturdy and well made.

I can forgive a couple of blemishes between a poor sanding mistake on the back of the wood block and equally bad grinding on the edge of the base that leaves reflections going different directions in direct lighting. This thing cost me $85. I didn't expect perfect.That said, I did expect it to be straight. There's a hole in the base and a corresponding pin on the neck that fit together to lock in the direction the board faces. I got it in place, tightened it down and... It's not straight, it faces left (right if you're looking at it) a few degrees. That's weird.I'll grind the nub off myself and straighten it out freehand, but that's just poor tooling of the machines making these things.

This is a great magnetic knife stand. I needed something that was space saving as I don’t have a lot of counter space and also something not too tall because my cabinets are low. It fits the bill perfectly. There are two sizes and I got the small one and I can easily fit 2-3 more knives on it depending on their sizes.The stand is very heavy and I see no way that it would tip while removing my knives or putting them on. The base is solid metal and has no slip base attached.I would buy again and recommend it to anyone looking for an attractive space saving knife stand that is of quality.

I like the style, it has strong magnets. It is taller than expected and doesn't fit under my cabinets with the knives I have.

Great knife magnetic block. The magnet is so strong, we hear the snap of our knives onto the wood, and the magnet is one magnet, so you can place the knives wherever you would like and they don't get pushed by different magnets. Also, the stainless steel base is so heavy; when taking the knives off, the stand remains in place. And the piece is so beautiful, it really makes our kitchen look gorgeous.

The product is beautiful and heavy but as reported by some other customer, once the screw tight well, the base is not aligned with the stand. Futhermore the wood stand has been slighty damaged during transport. The pocket with the screw was disbonded and the screw has marked the wood through the protection.So yes the product is nice but the overall quality is just average.

I love it! It took me a long time to look for a magnetic knife board that is affordable, looks good, and fits my Mercer bread knife which is 10" long and this is perfect! Assembly is required but it is very easy to do.

Wide board, heavy base... What's not to like? 😁
