It is great for freeing up sockets and protecting your valuable electronic devices or appliances, power surges have the ability to kill a electronic device it's just a matter of luck as to when it will happen, also there is no warranty on any device killed by a power surge so if it happens your screwed. This one plug covers appliances upto £1000 should the plug fail to do it's job, the usb ports are superb for charging the many items which now only offer usb charging and the masterplug is a usb smart charger so safer to use than the cheap chinese 3 pin usb wall plugs which offer no protection at all.

This is a very neat and classy looking USB charger with surge protection protection via the 13A socket to protect any connected electronic equipment. The extra plug available makes it a very handy device to have in the office on in the home.

Just what I needed when out and about using my laptop as don’t want to risk regular plug sockets in the majority of venues when I need to switch to mains power. Well made, sturdy and the USBs are fine for charging the mouse and phone at the same time quickly. An inexpensive and well built surge protector plug when damaging £1500 of laptop isn’t worth risking

I bought this so I could charge my phone but also still have access to the power socket to power my clock radio. I had been using a Masterplug 4 way power adaptor with 2 USB points on it but it was a very untidy solution for what I needed. I had considered fitting a double plug socket with inbuilt USBs but that would be expensive and they come with their own issues so this inline charger seemed a neater solution.It has been in for about a month now and I'd almost forgotten about it before Amazon prompted me to write this review. I had to cover the lights on the front with black electrical tape but apart from that it's worked flawlessly.

Anything that helps protect your home and appliances against power surges are a good thing. This gives me the versatility to also plug in two USB devices at the same time.I first bought one of these type of plugs a couple of years ago, it was a different brand, but this one works just as well, and is actually smaller and cheaper than the first type I purchased.The only thing to note is common with these adapters. Because they're natually slightly wider than ordinary plugs, if your wall socket is close to an edge or corner, you might not have space to plug it into the socket. As it is something I have yet to see worked around by any brand, I refuse to mark the product down, but I just wanted to make people aware that can be a problem regardless of the brand purchased.All in all, I really can't complain.

I have had permanently wired USB wall sockets for charging, but these have developed faults in just a few years and replacement of these is not trivial. This Surge Protected Mains USB Charger charges my phone & watch quicker than my wall sockets, includes surge protection, but most importantly can easily be replaced if it did develop a fault.

Works well, looks very neat, well made and sturdy, doesn't get hot we used it to charge a Yale camera, an Ipad and a sony z2 tablet. If buying for travel please not the prongs do not fold up so will take up more room in the case
