Harriman, Bear Mountain, Sterling Forest State Parks (National Geographic Trails Illustrated Map)

The map was extremely informative. It showed where the public cabins are, swimming areas, all trails, basically everything you need. Much better than the maps sold locally, they only show popular trails and their campgrounds.

Excellent map for planning but not super detailed for on the ground navigation. It is big and this would be another reason not to carry it on a hike.

Nice maps, mileage for trails is printed for each section of trail. the only down side might be the size and weight of these maps. If you are an ultra light backpacker there are lighter alternatives.

These NatGeo maps are great! Covers a large area of Bear mountain and parts north of new york.

The NYNJ Trail Conference maps of this area are MUCH better

It's more for a wall poster or photocopying smaller sections than to actually use on a hike. Way too big and detail is too small. As a wall poster it's great!
