Nice Tanto for my Collection
I like the appearance and feel of this blade and that it is a 1090 Hi Carbon Steel with Manganese. I am not expecting a high Rockwell C rating for a piece like this. After all, in the end, you are paying not only for the steel itself but its heat treatment, poilishing and aestetic beauty of Tsuka, Tsuba and Saya. Hi end stuff is usually +Rc 55 or even 65-70 that has been packed with clay in its hardening process. That said, I am quite happy to have this blade as part of my collection of Katana's, Wakizashi's and Tanto's
