Stuart, Good morning! Whilst I'm not in your league, weight wise, I suggest that you may be better off with a Leki walking pole. They supply various models and although more expensive are likely to be more substantial. The Foxelli poles are good value for money but probably not very strong - I haven't put them to that particular test yet. I hope that this info helps. Ian
