Brossum Large 2-in-1 Round Chalk and Wax Paint Brush | Painting or Waxing Furniture | Handmade with All Natural Bristles and Ergonomic Handle | Dark or Clear Wax | DIY, Home Decor, Wood - desertcart.com Review: Don't wait, buy now - I have been looking for a large round brush like this for a little while. I happened upon this, and thought I would give it a go. It arrived in perfect condition, pristine actually. Now that I had it, I needed to find a piece to paint. Well, I did, actually I found a few, of a couple different sizes. I quickly grabbed my brush and got to work. Oops, I was so excited, I did not follow instructions and wash the brush to remove any loose bristles; this did not turn out to be a problem at all. I think I found three bristles as I painted, and that was like one per piece, honestly. Well, the verdict was in, and I love it! It held paint well without dripping (I was using a thicker paint, but drips have always caused me problems) it went on smoothly, and covered as much area as I wanted. No complaints. Onto the medium sized piece. Again, no complaints, and was now cursing myself that I had not bought this sooner, as I would have saved myself a lot of hassles. I do have to say, with two kids in college, $18.00 and myself are not easily parted, however, I have come to learn that good tools are well worth the money, and for this tool, it's a no brainer. Moving on to the smaller piece. Yes, I would use it again as apposed to a regular smaller, or angled brush. I used the Brossum on the legs, flat surfaces, and other parts this would fit. There were some smaller "holes" that I did need a one inch brush for, so after, I just went and filled in using that. As for clean up. No issues, I usually have the paint line in my brushes, can't seem to get them fully clean, but this too was not an issue. I used black paint, and you would never know it. I rinsed until all the paint that was going to come out was out, then I used a drop or two of dish soap, and it is back to being perfect. I love the fact that I can hang it up, as it comes with the leather loop, and not just a hole in the brush. I can't say enough about the Brossum. The company also seems (although there was obviously no need) to be very interested, and conscientious about putting out great products, and have no doubt they would offer excellent customer service. If you are looking for a good brush, make it this one. Review: Very good brush! - I first purchased chalk paint and wax brushes for about $15 each from my local craft store because Lowe's didn't have any. I ended up washing the paint off because the bristles shed so badly and returned the brushes. I then drove over 45 minutes and spent $50 and $75 each on Annie Sloan chalk paint and wax brushes. I was very disappointed in them as well as I had the same problem. I was constantly picking out bristles. It wasn't as bad as the craft store brushes, but still a hastle. Not wanting to spend another arm and leg on a second set of brushes, I decided to give this a try and was very pleased. Very few lost bristles and a little softer than the Annie Sloan's. I'm going to buy a couple more because I often have multiple projects going at the same time. *Update: After leaving this review, I decided to Google loose bristles in Annie Sloan brushes, and discovered that you're supposed to wash and bang 'em around AND paint on some paper and wash 'em again before first use... who knew? I wish they'd mentioned that on a label.

Great brush for furniture painting.
Used this brush to paint a bench and my end product looked like a professional job when I was done. I needed to apply three coats and this brush held up somehow without caking or leaving any residue on the wood. It did he’d a few hairs but just what us expected with kist new brushes like this. It also washed out very easily and is good as new and ready to use again, so the price is totally worth it.

Great brush for Chalk Paint (RTFM - Wash the Brush before 1st use)
The brush is working out great for both painting and applying wax. I definatley advice washing the brush first to remove any loose bristles so they aren't left behind on your piece. I would be curious if some of the other brushes where folks complain about broken bristles left behind also include instructions to wash the brush before using it (a RTFM moment). This made a difference.

All kidding aside it does a great job of applying a thin
Unfortunately I was unable to get a permit for a tickertape parade when the parcel containing your brush arrived at my Post Office. I did, however drive home slowly (25mph speed limit) and pull over on the shoulder to let oncoming traffic pass (single lane road). After safely returning to my stained glass studio I carefully opened the box to find your lovely brush. I used the brush to apply paste wax to my stained glass creation. All kidding aside it does a great job of applying a thin, even wax coat to even the nooks and crannies of my lead lines. It will save me oodles of time as I don’t need to remove blobs of wax that tended to fill tight corners with other application methods. Yes! Yes! Yes! Definitely a worthwhile purchase even if it makes my studio smell like a wet dog after cleaning the brush. Love it! It is my new favorite tool!

Decent brush
I used this brush for my first time chalk painting. I did two medium sized desks with about 8 drawers. It did shed quite a few bristles as I read in other reviews. Didn't bother my too much as I just picked them off the projects. I don't have a lot of experience with chalk paint but the brush prices seemed high. I don't lose many bristles with regular paint brushes in the same price range. I think if I were to do it again I would just paint with a regular Purdy brush.
