HartzTuff Stuff Toss Around Plush Frisbee Flyer Dog Toy - Medium/Large

The media could not be loaded.  Dog loves it. My last one has lasted 10 years and it still is usable, but finally showing wear and tear. The fabric is SUPER durable. Now this is used with a 20 lb pug we nicknamed "destructo" because he is the destroyer of toys. I can swing him around with this toy and it doesn't fall apart.This is about as good as it gets for a 10 inch frisbee type toy. Also the squeaker in the middle still works after all these years. New one is identical.

This is my dog's favorite outdoor toy. It takes a few throws to figure out the toss just right, but my dog will run and catch this toy in mid-air and bring it back to me. He's really strong and rough with toys. This frisbee lasts about a year (daily use) before his tug-of-war rips it. I like that it's softer for his mouth than a plastic frisbee. I've bought and rebought this frisbee several times over the last 6 years. You don't get to choose the color, which is a downside. I like the Red, Orange and Blue. Least favorite is green because it gets lost in my grass during the summer.

These are the perfect "wheel toy". Dog owners should know with certainty that dogs should NOT be jumping in the air to catch a frisbee. This is an unnatural behavior that can lead to injuries in the shoulders and back. Instead, roll this toy like a wheel, it's perfect for that. I have had many athletic dogs over the last 20 years and even a bouncing tennis ball can get the dog air borne and lead to significant injuries. I gave this 4 stars because like other reviewers have said, I wish the toy was more durable :( But if you can keep your dog from chewing on this toy, you can get a couple months out of it. Rolling the toy like a wheel simulates a live prey scenario while keeping the action on ground level (like in the wild). The faster you roll it the more the dog feels like they're actually chasing something and they joy on your dogs face is evidence of this. I buy 10 to 20 of these at a time so I wish there was some kind of bulk deal. Hey HARTZ, do a better job with the stitching please!!!! If you make an improvement, you'll have the best dog toy on the planet.

I may have been a little harsh in my initial review: "A really disappointing dog disc. It might be durable but it just doesn't stay aloft. My dog loves a long chase and airborne catch, but this flyer just tilts to the side and crashes into the ground after the first 30 to 40 feet. So we'll be using it for very close-range catch games in the backyard only."After six months we're still playing with it in the backyard, so for durability it's very impressive. I use it to throw TO my dog in the backyard, and for that it's tough and lasting well. But at the park, where I throw for my dog to chase after and catch (i.e. 70 to 100 feet) I use the Chuckit Large Paraflight or the Booda Tail-Spin Flyer. These both last a couple of months with my dog (a Kelpie), and she shake-kills it after each catch. Both fly well dry or wet, and continue to do so even after the inevitable disintegration begins. In short, the Tuff Stuff Flyer is the most durable but good for short throws only, whilst the Chuckit and Booda are less durable but superb for long-throw games. I'll continue to get all three.

So, first of all, we know our large doodle is going to destroy any toy that he is allowed 24/7 access to. With that said, this type of “softer” toy is used a few times ever day to play/exercise our boy - and then put up between uses. I am impressed with how well this has held up over the past two months. There’s obvious signs of use but he has not been able to rip it like he has so many others. At this rate, I’d say this will last another 3-4 months so I already ordered a back up. I am very impressed as many others we have tried have split at the seams and were useless within a week or two. The higher price than others is def worth it for us as we are not having to replace it as often and, therefore, will end up saving us money. Great product that lives up to it’s name.

As the title states, this product claims that it is made out of Ballistic Nylon and it definitely is not. I have a German Shepherd mix of 2 years and I knew that she was going tp be an aggressive chewer; I was suggested to look for ballistic nylon toys for her so I wouldn't have to keep spending money on toys that easily rip on the same day. For context, since she was a 4 month old pup, I bought her a K9 Ballistics Nylon bed from the official website (if you have bought one of those beds you know they are about $200 - $300) and that is the only bed to have lasted her and still continues to remain strong no matter how many times she has clawed, bit, and scratched at it. We've even purposefully antagonized her with the bed and she has not been able to make a single rip at all. This toy however, has not even lasted an hour with her. Would not recommend for super chewers.

It looks fragile but so far still in one piece.

My Dog is very tough on chewing things as he is still in puppy stage. He loves this. Great quality! and durable!
