Detecto D1130 Large Dial Bathroom Scale, 300 lb Capacity

These are not top of the line scales, but are a whole lot better than the two previous digital scales I've had that died on me. At least they don't die on you.

I got this a couple of years ago for Christmas and I already submitted a review that I loved it as I knew I would but what I recently realized is that it’s extremely accurate to the ones at the hospital and doctors office! So when I get weighed there it’s no big deal because it’s exactly what I thought it was!!

Easy to read, comparing its results versus the scale at our doctor's office we'd like to give it 5 stars for accuracy but since we have to 're-zero' it before EVERY weighing that factors against it.It looks and feels like it'll be durable but that remains to be seen and we sure do feel it's not up the design and build quality of the bathroom scales of the 60s and 70s.Ample space and stability to stand on but there is approximately 2½" of 'step-up' height.All in all pretty good but I was hoping for a classic lifetime scale from the 60s this isn't it.

This worked perfectly for 9 months and then was off by 20+ pounds.

J.M.J.Very happy with this purchase; it is just what I was looking for. Nowhere could I find in the description that this is a metal scale with a rubber foot pad. The foot pad is not large, barely fits a size 9.5 lady's foot, because the number dial is huge. The plus, it's easy to read; the minus, it's a small foot pad; the best, it's metal, does the job and seems built to last. The cover for the dial is plastic. Cheers!

Purchsing this scale seemed like the right idea having seen an older model of this make and type up close. What I got was nothing like the original old accurate scale I remember. For starters, the platform will not allow you to distribute your weight evenly unless your put your feet at an awkward 20o angle. The old verision allowed a full even footprint. When unpacked and put on a hard floor, the needle was not anywhere near 0. In fact it was nearly impossible to calibrate it. Each step on and off shifted the dail off. But, when as close as we could get it, the reding was about 3 lbs too low. To double check, we put our calibration weights on it in several differnt weight levels with a consistent error. Overall quality was very poor. Detecto made a huge mistake in farming manufacture, and maybe parts, to China. The calibration wheel felt terrible. There was friction it squeaked and felt like it was about to break. This is nothing like the original and can not be recommended.

I love this scale. Very east to read. After reading the reviews I was worried about having to re-set the dial each time, but I have had the scale over a month and I have not had to re-set this once yet. I went to the Doctors the other day and both scales read the same.

I like the large numbers, they are easy to read. And I like the markers which allow me to mark my goal weight
