So far, I'm impressed
Installed this on Friday night - we needed a small, inexpensive laser printer - our inkjet printers kept drying out and were crazy expensive to replace ink cartridges. We don't print often - but when we need it, we need it. This printer fits the bill perfectly. Small size, good print quality, and toner cartridges are reasonably priced. Note that this model does NOT have an ethernet connection, so you have to either print via a USB cable connected to your laptop, or use the built-in wi-fi print function. Printing via USB is a piece of cake. Setting up the wi-fi printing is a bit cumbersome, but once it's done, it's proven to be rock solid. You have to connect the printer to your laptop via USB cable to set up for wi-fi printing. Then you have to do this for each computer you want to have access to the printer. It's not intuitive but it works. You'll also need to download the drivers if you don't have a CD drive. Only thing I have found thus far that seems to not work quite right, is one of our laptops won't shut down correctly after we installed the drivers. It takes two shutdown cycles. Not a major problem, and I expect the next driver update will sort that out. As I said earlier - for $90 you can't expect perfection but this one comes pretty darned close. Quick warm-up, quick print time, and automatic sleep mode. It can take about 8 seconds for your first page to print, but after that it's as fast as any other home laser printer out there.

YES! FINALLY!
Coming back over a year later to confirm this is the best printer of my life. And I work in IT! I have not had to buy anything but paper and I print probably a page a day, or so. I will never buy anything but a pantum from now on.I bought this bc of the reviews and they were correct!!! All i ever have are issues w home printers. They usually last 6 months and then something goes wrong that no one can fix. Well, I was tired of how expensive ink was so this is my first laser printer. I WILL NEVER GO BACK! I learned that in the long run, THIS is cheaper! I don’t need color or photos, just a printer for documents. This printer is SO FAST! Documents are always good quality and easy! I print a lot from my phone, so it was important for me to have wireless printing. I used my MacBook to set up the printer, but since I didn’t have a CD drive, I just got the driver online. It was easy, painless, and pretty quick. I have to say, my HP ink printers were idiot proof to set up, so by comparison this took about 30 min and I had to attach it to my computer… but in the long run it was worth it. Usually I have issues bc I use apple products & software, but not this time! With HP I always had to switch my wireless connection manually to the printer in order to print, but pantum does it by itself! So easy and printing life is so much better! I’ll never go back to ink printers.

Not adequate
1 year review:I use this printer exclusively for making wire labels using Brady label sheets (LAT-58-361) for my day job as an ISP hub engineer. I've also printed on plain paper a few times for various reasons. After 1 full year of use I've decided to leave a review.- For some odd reason the ink prints good and dark in the center of the page but gets lighter at the left and right sides. So ink looks good in the center 3 inches but the left and right sides look like Im running low on toner. Text looks grey instead of black. It started doing this after about a month of use. I've still got 75% toner after 1 year so I know it's not because of low toner. Somehow it's just not getting distributed properly.- Text doesnt print accurately onto the page. When printing on plain paper you'd probably never notice it. But with label sheets you notice when text is off by 4mm causing your text to bleed over the boundary of your labels. I also have a Brother printer and that one doesnt have this issue. I believe the Pantum isnt keeping the paper aligned straight when it gets sucked into the feeder so all text is off by 4mm. I have to manually adjust all my label text in the software Im using so text is printed center on my label sheets.- I'm always using this with a USB cable so I cant attest to the WIFI capabilities.Summary:It doesnt print ink clearly and it doesnt print accurately on the page. Those are kind of basic requirements for any printer so I'm giving this 1 star. I'll be looking for a replacement printer soon because this one kind of sucks.

Will only work on 2.4ghz WiFi.... *NOT* 5ghz
Prints fine. VERY quick, considering... kind of noisy... Honestly, this is a GREAT budget black and white laser printer. Only complaint is it only supports the older WiFi standard, and that really wasn't made clear in the product description (a lot of reviews state they couldn't get WiFi to work - this is probably why). Not a big deal - there are several workarounds, and you can always set your router to 2.4ghz(Just Google it. You'll figure it out... or get some kid to help you. This is merely today's version of figuring out how to program your VCR. I decided to just keep mine plugged into the hub I use as a docking station with the dedicated scanner and the bigger monitor. That's good enough for my home office...)It's a pretty good printer all in all. Better than any I've owned before - and I actually really LIKE that it's a dedicated device, rather than a big all-in-one...It's got a small footprint (not much bigger than a sheet of paper, actually) nicely compact, seems durable, the feeders fold up, so it could probably travel really well if I ever need it to....Is it a GREAT printer...? No. It's a four-star laser printer at best, even with high-quality paper. But is it a great "for-what-it-is, budget, wireless, laser-quality monochrome printer...?Yes. Absolutely. :-) Brilliant little home printer for a quick few pages of pretty much anything, very economical, can handle some serious volume occasionally (it does get warm after about 20 pages... remains to be seen if it overheats... it did fine with 50...)I like it. I'm glad I bought it. I hope it lasts.
